Excess Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Clinical Implications?
This is a very recent paper. Some of the areas covered are well-known. Such as not treating B12 deficiency with folic acid. But, in the more speculative parts, I think it does raise questions over the prescribing of high dose (e.g. 5 milligrams a day) of folic acid in those who are currently low in

another iron infusion? and low ALT level
Hello, dear RLS friends! I would really appreciate your advice regarding my mother's ferritin levels. So she is currently on 0.375 mg (some days up to 0.5 mg) and 900 mg neurontin. I know DAs are not optimal, but at this point it would really be a problem to withdraw, especially that mom did start with

Intrinsic Factor (IF) Antibodies testing while on B12
Hello folks - If someone has IF Antibodies and is taking b12 ...would that affect an IF and IF Antibodies blood test..? I dont think it should - as if you have errosive gastritis / malabsorbtion issues etc, you got them...and the B12 wont improve that in any way...? Thanks lovely PA folks

Examining the Pathology of the Parietal cells
Just read from a post by Rexz , that in the U.S.A. a diagnosis of Pernicious
Anaemia
can be confirmed by examining the pathology of the parietal cells .( by endoscopic ultra-sound ) This seems an excellent method for confirming such a serious condition as P.A.Which can lead to serious health problems

Have I cardiac haemolytic anaemia or haven't I?
On May 31 a haematologist wrote to my GP following tests on
March 5
to say that "it is likely [that I have] cardiac haemolytic
anaemia
". But on
April 30
and on
July 23
, I had blood tests at A & E (to where I went with exhaustion) and was told I was NOT anaemic.

Cofactors - B complex?
should I be starting on a B complex? I had iron infusion end of May and have been on EOD B12 injections since then. I am also taking folic acid 5mg every day and a spray vitamin D & K. I have been reading that some people take a B complex, but the one I saw also has folate in it and don’t want to

Diet and B vitamins
Hello, I take a daily supplement dose of plant based vitamin B12 Complex and try to eat a range of foods that are healthy. I drink alcohol - maybe 5 units four/five times a week and I read that maybe I should take additional B vitamins to cover myself against there being insufficient to counteract this

Low red cell count but eat lots of red meat!
Is this
anaemia
and so do I supplement with iron? Is there a good one for people with hashimotos?I have been told I have weak digestion and I feel I don't absorb things like iron very well.

After some B12 advice following results
Hi everyone, thanks in advance for reading. These sites and forums have been so useful since having found out I was deficient in a few things a few months ago. Following a blood test, it showed I had low B12, deficient in Folate and Vit D and low iron, but not deficient. This topic was not one I knew

Help with self-injecting
Hi everyone. As scared as I am to think of self-injecting, I finally placed an order for B12 ampoules today. (Thanks, Wedgewood for the info!) I have injections every eight weeks but like clockwork at four weeks in, I always have trouble while out on walks, feel like I am going to fall over

Would I absorb B12 in tablet form if I had PA?
Hi all, On a hunt to figure out the cause of my continued iron loss... Had an iron infusion in July 2021 and I'm now back to deficiency. GP has done all they can, confirmed by private GP. The guidelines now assume iron loss is related to periods... except mine are very light and only last a day so

My daughter's blood tests, could someone take a look please .
My daughter is 12. She doesn't have any diagnosed thyroid problems but our GP has run various blood tests due to regular nosebleeds and occasional migraines with aura. I persuaded them to check her thyroid and iron panel aswell. I've pushed for this with our family history of autoimmune thyroid problems

What are some signs that you need more injections as opposed to it being reversing out?
I recently switched from cyano to methyl and I have been doing EOD, the main neurological symptoms I have left are muscle weakness and shortness of breath(
anaemia
like feeling). I get panic attacks whenever I hit 24 hrs after the last injection (thankfully they are less severe now).

Serum ferritin too high?
Can anyone tell me whether 286 is too high for a serum ferritin level? I had an iron infusion a few months ago and this is my new level. I have been feeling very anxious, having panic attacks, not sleeping etc... and was wondering if it could be because of this? At the same time of the infusion I

Neutrophils
Hi everyone new here. I've just got my bloods back from gp and I have low white cell count (neutrophils) this leaves me open to infection as I'm sure your all aware that is a side effect of Roactemra. The consultant has now stopped my injection for 1 week and then repeat bloods in 4 weeks. My question
