Phantom Pain
I have suffered phantom pain since my
amputation
over two years ago. Some consultants think it is worse because I suffered severe pain for months beforehand as treatment was delayed because of you know what. It was improving but worsened after my revision.

Phantom Restless Leg
I've always wondered if RLS symptoms would change after an
amputation
? Let's be honest. (In no way making light of the situation.) At some point or another during an awful bout of RLS I'm sure many of us have ignorantly cursed out. "Just get rid of these damn things."

My Mystery DNR
This didn't work and I had a BKA (below knee
amputation
) at the end of the month. At that time the DNR should no longer have been in place. I have confirmation it is not in place at that hospital.

Terrified where to turn
I was told that if the wound won't heal I could risk
amputation
. I was told that if I opt for a spinal block I could bleed into it and become paralysed. I was also told that I risk a major bleed and possible death. I am confused, stunned and don't know where to turn.

27 years off dialysis

Systemic sclerosis
My peripheral veins are in bad state, causing gangrene and necessitating both self-

Be aware of high fevers
My 105 degree fever was quite serious and I was on antibiotics of all kinds to stop cellulitis in my arm from reaching the point of death or
amputation
. I was unaware of anything for days. Since I was use to hands and wrists swelling with Pmr I thought this was the same.

Introducing Myself, Introducing My Pain
Eventually infection set in and I had a BKA (below knee
amputation
). Before the
amputation
I had never heard of "phantom limb pain". In the early days this was truly awful and I was on Oramorph, Tramadol and Gabapentin.

Stop The Pressure
I suffered quite badly with sores on both my bottom and heel in the aftermath of my
amputation
. What annoyed me was the fact I was seen a number of times by a tissue viability nurse. This was sorted when I moved to rehab by more focussed nursing rather than a specialised nurse.

Weight lifting with CKD (Stg. 4)
Over the last five years, since I was diagnosed with CKD, I have lost quite a bit of muscle thanks to not only CKD but also a partial foot
amputation
I had at the time. I'm interested in building my upper body strength back up, especially in my arms, shoulders, and chest.

Phantom Pain
I have suffered with this since a BKA (Below Knee
Amputation
) in 2020. The last few days it has tended to start after I go to bed. I am tied and want to sleep yet suffer various pains (cramp, pain in ankle, burning in big toe area). It may take a couple of hours to drift off.

ORTHO. CONSULTANT HAS LEFT ME IN SITUATION OF ANY MORE SURGERY COULD RESULT IN AMPUTATION!!
Unfortunately due to all the infections I have had, which I believe I got from the private hospital (possibly the operating room), I am advised no further surgery should be done, as it could result in the
amputation
of my arm.

RLS Am I nearly cured? Or am I getting complacent?
Advice please, as these sensations are just unbearable and I feel like
amputation
rather then starting medication. Regards Ali
