Amiodarone interaction with NOACs /warfarin
I think the most important thing to remember is the drug
amiodarone
.
Amiodarone
is often used in patients with atrial fibrillation, the condition that is the most common indication for a NOAC. If possible, use of
amiodarone
in patients who are on NOACs should be avoided.

So you thought you were in Sinus Rhythm, Mr SmartyPants? Take home is Atrial Flutter can mimic Sinus Rhythm but rare as hen's teeth.
So actually in AFlutter for 2 months 24/7 It was
Amiodarone
or RF touch up......no brainer really.

Which is likely to be to blame,
Amiodarone
or Rivaroxaban? Thanks.

Advice on Amiodarone please
I have just been started on
Amiodarone
, this is the third day of taking 200mg 3 times a day but my heart rate is still 147 is this normal? Does it take time for the med to kick in? I'm feeling very anxious which doesn't help and don't know if I should be going to A & E or not.

Wondering whether to have an Ablation
I was put on the regular meds: apixaban, bisoprolol,
amiodarone
and was cardioverted the same month. One shock was enough for a NSR and no issues since.

Slower heart rate, increased blood pressure and breathless in the evening
The
amiodarone
used for the Cardioversion has been reduced over the past 3 weeks I’ve gone down to 1 x 200mg daily from 3 x 200mg. I’m concerned that things are not improving I want to get back to work at the end of the month and worry this isn’t improving.

CRT-D Benefits Realisation
My own suspicion is that most of the benefit will come from being able to come off
Amiodarone
and Bisoprolol and this may take a few months to fully kick in. Ogilvie

Hair loss
After thirty years of paroxysmal af which became persistent 12 months ago when I was prescribed
Amiodarone
and Rivaroxaban I had an ablation in Feb and came off the
amiodarone
until September when the afib returned (my EP thinks it’s just a blip).

Six months post ablation
But the
amiodarone
worked and after a few weeks I was back in NSR. I had to stay on it for about four months but since stopping the medication my heart has stayed in NSR.

Just out of Interest.
They put me on
amiodarone
which did my thyroid in and so although I have not taken this nasty medicine for over a year I am now permanently on Thyroxine. Eventually on 3rd November 2016 I had a cardio version for my afib. I was fortunate, it work first time and I went back into sinus rhythm.

Amiodarone Bad Dreams
Does anyone else have bad dreams when on
Amiodarone
? I have started having dreams where I will fall off a cliff and wake with a jolt. It doesn't happen every night but when it does it is quite alarming. I have been told this is a side effect of
