Sudden change in asthma
Helloall, I have had asthma my whole life. I stupidly used to smoke but gave up 5 years ago this April. I have been generally fit and well since then and taken a keen interest in exercise, cycling 20 miles most days to and from work for the past 18 months. Prior to that I was exec ricing 6 days a week

We’ve all heard them... weird ideas/causes/cures for asthma. Some so utterly ridiculous that you just have to laugh, so share the ‘joy’! Patient of mine; ‘your asthma only severe because you have poor self esteem’ Old housemate; ‘smoking weed will cure your asthma... it did mine!’ Has anyone else had

Speaking exacerbates my asthma
Hi everyone, I've had an asthma flare up for the last two months and I'm struggling to manage my symptoms. Recently I've noticed that speaking for more than 5 minutes in conversation starts to exacerbate my symptoms. I'm sure those around me are relieved I am speaking less though ;) Has anyone else

Trousers
Hi Dogbot here laying here in hospital at 1 o’clock in the morning with my head still getting round the fact of having a Stoma bag (this being my first week), one of the questions that has come into my mind is what sort of trousers do you where because from the bag hanging down you don’t want to cut

Cold weather/exercise advise please!
Hi everyone! I have eosinophilic asthma, not exercise induced asthma...BUT...this is my first winter exercising with asthma in the cold and with the dip in temperature I seem to have developed a cough which I think the cold air is triggering! One of those annoying coughs that comes on when you laugh

The "asthma" saga continues
So I've written before that I'm still waiting for a diagnosis. Under asthma nurse for tests which are ongoing. During a months trial of brown inhaler I caught a cold, or so I thought. Turns out it got much worse and was told it's bacterial pneumonia. Now I'm in limbo. There's speculation my "asthma

Never give up hope
A couple of years ago we as parents were devastated. We never knew the devastation endometriosis could cause. Albeit our daughter developed a 6cm endo tumour on her bowel and test for diagnosis perforated her bowel making matters worse causing sepsis. She was told by the surgeons they had never seen

Lung images of twins with asthma add to understanding of the disease.
Two lung imaging studies from Western University, including one performed in non-identical twin patients with life-long asthma, have shown that airway defects in the lungs of asthmatic patients are like thumbprints – they have a unique pattern and maintain that pattern over time. These studies deepen
