Food glorious food.
Hello everyone, Please could you send me information about the effects of food on PWP. I feel better if I eat less often and was wondering if this is a common situation. What foods must be avoided? Fried food can make me feel awful. Sugary foods are ok in moderation. I keep a food diary. Thank you

Xolair off the NHS?
After coming to the UK, I felt OK for 6 years , and then got really sick again with

HRT could raise odds for asthma
Millions of women who take hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to ease their transition through menopause may be unknowingly upping their risk for asthma. The concern follows a study that spent more than two decades tracking a potential link between HRT and late-onset asthma among roughly 380,000 Danish

Asthma Returned?
I had asthma as a child and it faded out when I was about 16. I suffered occasional wheezing if walking in a cold wind but did not need any medication. I am now 61 and had a general anaesthetic in April and began with asthma-like symptoms in May, but not sure if this is related. Have had antibiotics

Flank pain right side.
Hi , in desperate need to discover the cause of excruciating right flank pain which came, without injury, 6 weeks ago. Comes daily say, each afternoon, even when on prescribed rest. Pain lasts 6 to 8 hours and I get no relief even from opiate analgesia. No problem first thing following morning except

Colorectal endo lap- share experiences please?
Hi everyone, so I finally went private after months and months of waiting on the NHS. I've been told by my new consultant that he thinks another laparoscopy should be performed, and he is likely to have space in his clinic in November. I have stage four endo with my bowel and uterus stuck together, so

Waiting times York gynaecologist?
Does anyone know waiting times for York gynaecologist referrals? I’ve struggled with endometriosis for 20years. In the last 5 years I’ve had lots of pain and problems with ovarian cysts. I also have Crohn’s disease and 13 years ago had part of bowel removed and a temporary stoma. Because of my previous

BRANDS OF T3 AVAILABLE ON NHS
My endo has written to GP recommending she issues prescription for T3 which, quite miraculously, she has done. I left the prescription in with the pharmacist yesterday as he said he would need to order it in. The script just said liothyronine 10mcg tablets and did not mention a brand. I am currently

Severe asthma made worse by acid reflux
I’ve spent 4 days in hospital this week with para influenza making my severe asthma bad. Doctors also think silent acid reflux is also irritating my lungs and making things worse. My breathing is back under control but I’ve an awful chesty sounding cough particularly at night which eases when I sit

O2 saturation and heart rate
May I ask if anyone takes measurements of O2 saturation during asthma attacks? Do you see numbers drop significantly during attacks? I know my asthma is bad when I cannot talk in sentences and must lie down to let it pass. While lying down, the heart rate is at 130 and stays until rescue inhaler kicks

Puzzled by asthma symptoms and then no symptoms
Last year I suffered from symptoms that lead me to suspect late onset asthma. On several occasions I woke in the night with difficulty breathing. I was suffering from frequent coughing fits and on two terrifying occasions found my self gasping for breath after a short walk. Phone conversations with

Drastically worse IBS-C/constipation for no apparent reason, after 19 years
Hi - I am posting to see if anyone has ever had a very sudden and drastic worsening in their symptoms of IBS-C/problems emptying the bowel? I have had IBS-C/constipation for nearly 20 years, and 10 years ago it got far worse after a surgery. Since that time it improved and has been consistent for

Noise in chest at night
Several rounds of antibiotics this summer. Had some small bleeds. Bleeds have stopped. Done with antibiotics. But I’ve been having noise in my chest. when I lay down at night. I Think it’s from all the mucous I have draining. Pulmonologist said my lungs sound good and ct scan looked good. I’ve had this
