If you are on prednisone/olone full time, what is the typical daily dose?
My consultant proscribed a taper from 20 mg per day for a week, then 10 mg per day for a week, then 5 mg per day, while I am waiting for xolair (
allergic
asthma
). He stated that 5 mg will minimize any side effects.

I was wondering….
I am currently on Dulera and Singulair. For rescue, I take Ventolin. The last appointment I had with my asthma team, the pulmonologist added Qvar to my Dulara. Singulair and Ventolin stayed the same. Has anyone had puffers added to their everyday maintenance puffers, and what classification would this

Impact of reducing Relvar dose
Dear fellow asthma buddies I wonder if I could ask your opinion. With the introduction of Montelukast, I was already taking high dose Relvar and Incruse, my asthma has been wonderfully stable. I have taken my reliever inhaler once a week before my dance class only. I've been walking and dancing without

"your lungs are clear"
After reading this forum for a month now (thank you all for the comments and for the great support!), it appears that many asthmatics (myself included) who have a solid diagnosis of asthma, are often told in the AE something along the lines of "your lungs are clear" (after X-rays, listening to the

Hi I have noticed that after every morning hair-drying I have a problem with breathing. Can a hair dryer cause an asthma attack? Thanks in advance for all answers.

Allergen Desensitization in the UK ("allergy shots")?
Hi all -- Do they offer allergen desensitization shots in the UK? In the US, my MD would get a specific formulation for specific proteins like polle-specific antigens, derp1 etc, and give it as a shot. I would spend 30 min in the waiting area and leave. In the USA, this therapy is much more common than

Do you think I could get more asthma attacks
Out of the blue acute asthma attack landed me in A&E I've been admitted and been given a treatment plan and should be home today after a 9 day stay. I have had no asthma symptoms for 20 years and never needed hospitalization before. Just wondering if anyone else found themselves in this situation and

I choked on a sweet in February.although I didn't manage to cough out the sweet the choking went away and I'm fine.A few months later I ate some spicy food and my stomach swelled up really big,my heart was beating fast, and I was struggling to breathe, the paramedics came but they didn't have to do anything
