Ct scan
My consultant a week ago ordered a ct scan for my asthma. He said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to be scheduled, in fact it has come through immediately. He also has me temporarily on lots of predisone which has got my asthma nicely under control. If I have a ct scan when my asthma is under control, does

The Stoma Begining
I’ve had prior Cancers like Bowell Cancer, Stage3 Testicular Cancer which are in remission and then Bladder Cancer. It was cleared but I was having Cystoscopies every 3mths to ensure the Bladder Cancer hadn’t returned. But what happened the last one which was in February my Urologist found the Bladder

Struggling to tolerate asthma meds
Has anyone had a bad reaction to Fostair or Flutiform? Clenil isn't helping to control my asthma but I can't seem to tolerate the newer stronger preventers. I'm limited to what I can use due to a dairy allergy. Would really appreciate some guidance . Thank you ❤️

Asthma and copd advice
Hi all, so I have had asthma for the last 20 years or so and recently told I have very mild signs of copd. So I'm trying to give up smoking and loose weight as I'm about 50 pounds overweight. Just looking for some advice on a few things, I'm told what you eat and drink can effect asthma but I'm not

Vitamin D
As my asthma has been out of control, I rang asthma UK. I received lots of good advice, including to look at taking vitamin d. I then received my latest bloods showing a vitamin d deficiency. So I have ordered my vitamin d with my tesco delivery. Has taking vitamin d helped others with their asthma

Asthma or COPD?
Hello. Apologies for this rather long post. I have been asthmatic all my life (except the first year!) and am now 73. My asthma is pretty well controlled with daily Symbicort and Ventolin occasionally when needed. I can ride a cycle 15 miles (but admit to struggling with hills although I do have

scleroderma and faecal incontinence
morning. I’m struggling with this at the moment and it’s limiting me to what I can do. I’ve seen a surgeon recently who mentioned a stoma as a last resort but I’m not sure about it. I’m not suitable for a rectal stimulator. I’m using pads and loperamide but wondered if anyone else has a similar problem

Frequently of asthma attacks
At Christmas I had an asthma attack (caused by a cold) and in March this year I had another one after having Covid. My question is two asthma attacks in one year consider bad? Winter is my worst time for my asthma.

Anaemia and asthma
My consultant is going to town with his blood tests. He is now saying that I have anaemia, low white blood cells and low vitamin d., as well as the expected allergies. How normal is all this with asthma.

Night only output!
Hey, newly installed loop ileostomy (2 months), and having a lot of troubles with eating still. Was advised to eat small portions of soft food for a while before getting more ambitious. This was going well, fairly consistent output from the stoma after eating until it wasn’t. Now digestion seems like

Sotalol taking with or without food
In the drug literature, it says "take it with or without food, but be consistent". I've found this difficult. Sometimes I end up taking it with food, sometimes without, I'm not consistent. I've noticed that maybe I don't get as much of a dosage some days as others due to changes in how I'm feeling

Bowel endo surgery
I was diagnosed with endo via lap four years ago. At the time i had an endometrioma removed but they left some endo (including a nodule) on my left uterosacral ligament as it was too close to the ureter. I also had mirena fitted at the same time and discharged straight after the surgery. Although there

Change of Hospital
I was diagnosed with asthma a year and a half ago, by my gp which was then confirmed by my nearby hospital, hospital A, who then basically when quiet. They are now saying this was an admin error. Then three months or so when on holiday in the next county I had a nasty asthma attack and was taken to

Emotion, asthma and the full moon
I have been gasping for air and reaching for salbutamol this morning. I guess there is nothing unusual in that ! Do my fellow asthmatics believe there is a connection between stress and asthma, between anxiety and asthma, and between emotion and asthma ? Have my fellow coughers noted any connection

Has anyone done sublingual immunotheray (SLIT) or the injection style (SCIT)? Did it make you feel terrible/set of your asthma symptoms?
Hey all, I started SLIT (grass+ragweed) in November of 2022. I was feeling find before I started it (just on my asthma control medication + no symptoms/sleeping well able to go about my life), but since I've started taking it have found it sets off my asthma (mildly, so I'm taking more rescue inhaler

Allergy bedding
Hi,Has anyone tried allergy bedding for asthma? Did you buy just bed sheets and duvet cover, or a duvet as well? Do they work? Thanks for sharing your experiences!
