In the drug literature, it says "take it with or without food, but be consistent". I've found this difficult. Sometimes I end up taking it with food, sometimes without, I'm not consistent.
I've noticed that maybe I don't get as much of a dosage some days as others due to changes in how I'm feeling, but it's minor so I haven't been able to figure out if without food more of this drug is absorbed, or with food. Does anyone know which is the case? I'd like to know so that I can try to be more consistent with more of the dose being absorbed.

Personally I always take my dose before food - never after. I think it is aborbed better this way and more effective. That's just may take but others may work the other way around.

Hi,
Here in UK where I am each packet has a sticker from the Pharmacy on it advising the time of day to be taken. The exception to this is Warfarin (Coumadin). In this case I take it at night.
My guess is that it is to do with the short term effect of Sotalol (the reason why it has to be taken twice a day). If you took one dose without food, and the next with food there ,might be a delay before the the second dose took effect, as taking with food might result in slower absorption in the body. This is just my speculation.
