Fostair causing coughing?
I have been diagnosed with asthma, either atopic asthma or non-asmatic allergic bronchitis in February of last year, had one appointment and now followed by a consultant vis phone appointments. I was on Clenil 100, 2 puffs 2x a day, and having sore throat, hoarse voice, etc. After a trial of montelukast

Home again, wasn’t too bad, got a bit breathless when I had to lie flat on the table but nurse got my inhaler and I soon settled down. Canular went in easily enough and procedure took a little less than I thought it would. Had a baileys coffee and Cyril doing dinner, his signature dish, just chips and

..and back on the steroid tablets I go........!
Had private appointment with chest consultant this afternoon( after NHS admitted they couldn't give me a follow up appointment for several weeks). Sadly the inflammation and coughing up yucky plugs of brown phlegm require a 3 week clobbering with Pred tablets🙄. Does explain why my inhalers weren't doing

Seretide Vs Aloflute
Hello! I’ve been taking seretide and ventolin inhalers as normal for the past 20 years, but the last time I went to pick up my preventer prescription it was Aloflute/generic. I’ve been taking this daily (as normal) for the last month or so and an finding the puff to be really ineffective, not as strong

Asthma worsening
Hi, I’m on week 3 and I’ve noticed my asthma has got significantly worse, I’m now taking steroids and my blue inhaler on a regular basis. Before I started I rarely used my blue inhaler (once a week, now most days) anyone else notice this? Does it settle down or is something else going on?

4K just to get out there!
I wasn’t happy on this run. For various reasons, I wasn’t able to run early and it was 11.30 before I set out on my run. Still chilly out but the sun was shining. Maybe I could manage without my jacket today? I had on my short sleeved tee and my new Proviz long sleeved tee shirt (which looked grey yesterday

Detoxing off steroid inhaler... Fostair?! Anybody had experience of this?
Hi All, Does anyone have any experience of coming off steroid inhalers particularly fostair, it didn't agree with me at all, so had to come off it after taking doses for 2 days, but breathing has become quite difficult, which it wasn't when I went on it and I just used to take the blue ventolin inhaler

Spiriva Respimat use
Hi, has anyone used Spiriva Respimat inhaler and found it hard to inhale. I have just recently started using this and find that when I inhale it takes my breath away and makes me cough. I would really appreciate anyone who may be having or had the same problem. Cheers

Hi all, I hope you are all staying safe and well 😊. I know there has been a few worries and queries about the Covid vaccine eligibility for asthmatics, this is a statement from AUK and we have also written to JCVI for clarity - I hope this is helpful 👍 'People with severe asthma who are clinically

A bit fed up
In the context of a global pandemic I probably shouldn’t grumble, but I’m a bit down after a phone consultation with my gp this morning. My asthma was diagnosed as severe after a nasty chest infection and (mild) pneumonia around Christmas 2019. Since then I’ve accumulated medications - now on Fostair
