Hi

I’ve got Covid 19 after my test came back positive . I take 2 puff twice day of fostair 100 and Also take Montelukast at night. The only symptoms I’ve had so far is dizzy head dry nose chesty cough. Feel ok in the day it’s the dreaded night I can’t sleep I feel as though I can’t breathe. My lungs hurt too . Last night was so bad I was doing breathing exercises at 2 in morning felt my breathing was very fast my body kept jerking too . I feel asleep woke up at 4 with my breathing very fast my blue inhaler doesn’t help . I put my head out of the window to get some fresh air still felt like I couldn’t breathe. So decided to lie on my front which helped went back to sleep. This morning I feel totally exhausted and very tired too . Has anyone else felt like this it’s very scary too . Some advice would kindly help .

It sounds like it might be more covid symptoms than asthma if that makes sense. I assume you're as propped up as you can be but when you feel like that if nothing is helping then it might be an idea to seek medical help.

I’ll try sleep sitting up tonight. My chest is tight and my lung hurts . I’m waiting on my GP to call me too . Doesn’t help that my dad in home last stages of vascular dementia . Feel sad and anxious so that’s not helping either . Thank you for your advice.

Ugh yes not a good time for you. Hopefully the GP will do steroids or something in case they help but if they say take ventolin do press that that wasn't working. Also if they try to blame anxiety - I am sure you are anxious about covid and your dad (everyone would be!) but it's unlikely to be your prime reason at the moment for tightness and breathing issues.

Keep drinking lots if you can, being hydrated is good for lungs anyway.

Hi Flossy67 sorry to hear your struggling I believe lying on your stomach helps covid patients as it helps the oxygen to the lungs hope this helps.

If your covid symptoms continue to give you trouble at nighttime then it may be prudent to talk to the 111 service. One of the things to monitor are your oxygen levels. If they are dropping into the 80s then you may require supplementary oxygen. We've had several cases of covid in the family and each one had varying symptoms, but hypoxia was the one that required medical intervention including oxygen and antibiotics in order to avoid a secondary bacterial infection. I hope your recovery is swift.
