Interesting article: In-office gene therapy for wet age-related macular degeneration is coming
Gene therapy is showing promise for one of the most common causes of blindness. Data presented today shows that six patients with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) have, so far, gone at least six months without the need for continued injections to control a disease that typically requires treatment

Stuck on 13 mg for 4 months, not sure what to do
Hi everyone, I’m feeling very despondent. Last June I was down to 9 mg and had a wonderful rheumatologist who listened and worked with me. (Originally diagnosed in January 2018 with PMR and GCA, put on 40 mg pred). She left the practice in June and I’ve been without a rheumatologist ever since

Eye surgery And Actemra.
Question: Monday I had a laser procedure for glaucoma. One little hole in each eye. Pin prick. Opthomologist says ok to do Actemra right away. Neurologist says when eyes are “totally healed” do next actemra. The Opthomologist gave me eye drops for 5 days. Ok. Who to follow? Have waited two days

High ALT and GGT postpartum. Potential haemangioma
I am ten weeks postpartum. I was diagnosed with cholestasis in the last few weeks of pregnancy but my bile acids never exceeded 20. About four weeks postpartum I had some liver tests. My alt was 52. I had these repeated again and my alt is now 117 and ggt is 74. I had a liver scan at two weeks postpartum

Taking Amoxicillin after cataract surgery
I have COPD and have Amoxycillin to take if I get a tight chest. I had cataract surgery a week or so ago, is it ok to take Amoxycillin after that? Could it cause any complications?

I'm not sure what stage of fatty liver I am at. Have done so much research and studied health science. But the only was I will get answers is a fibroscan. The GP that said I could have it left the surgery I was registered to. The new GP are not facied as its so common:WRONG! I BELIEVE TO TREAT HUMANS

Raised GGT/ALT. Completely lost.
Hello all. I literally found this forum minutes after speaking with my GP. I am 37, 6'1, 15 stone. Don't drink alcohol over the weekly suggested amount, and don't smoke. I was told today that my GGT levels are at 100, and that my ALT is 66. Doctor didn't explain clearly what this meant or

Light too bright since cataract surgery
Cataract surgery 10 months ago due to steroids. Was PMR & GCA symptom free and stopped steroids. Three weeks later back to square one. Restarted steroids at 5 mgs. To my dismay I now know not a high enough dose. Now on 10 mgs. PMR now ok but worrying about my GCA. My question is i am very light sensitive

Starting actemra this month
Good morning. I have been approved for actemra starting this month. I have had GCA since October 2018. Started at 60prednisone. Reduced to 9 by July 5 2020. Then lost 1/3 of my eye sight in my right eye overnight on July 6. Up to 50. Now at 39. My question: what rate did you reduce your prednisone

Delayed scans
So I was referred for a liver scan as my ggt was 216 and my alt was 42 everything else normal. Assumed it was alcohol related but didn’t think I drank that much! I rang today to chase as it’s been nearly 4 week, told me oh there’s a back log we’re doing all urgent scans so it’s probably going to be
