Recommended for Radiation at 0.01
Urologist said it's time to start talking about radiation and possibly
ADT
so I'm off today to see a radiation oncologist for his thoughts. From what I've been watching on here, it seems the thought process is to wait until .1 before considering further treatments.

Hi. I am 10 months post thyroidectomy. I am well and am on 180ndt a day as a single dose. My GP is telling me he is concerned about such a high dose and feels I am using the NDT as a stimulant to live my active lifestyle. My GP has told me he is worried about me and the 180ndt is as addictive as nicotine

NDT Armour dosing
I’m 2.5 months into Armour treatment, now adjusting to 1/2 grain at 6am and 1/4 grain an hour after lunch. Insomnia is one of my worse symptoms, I take 20mg of amitriptyline which has worked well for the last year, I sleep 12-7am. Since the latest Armour dose increase my insomnia has worsened and I

Medicare plans
Has anyone found a good supplemental plan which covers more than 66% of Trelstar
ADT
shots? The insurance I am losing covered 75% of a $2600 cost. The best I have found to replace it is 66% of 2900+ dollars.

Second Opinion?
I asked why there wasn't a dexa prformed before I started on the
ADT
and she said, that wouldn't matter, you've probably been osteopenic well before your treatment began. Of course, I disagree. Should I be shopping for a new cancer doc?

More drug news
I seem to have posted quite a lot about my experiences with drugs recently. I seem to be on a downward spiral and a learning curve at the same time - but not getting much relief from drugs for one reason or another. My last post was about Propranolol and I posted here because I was concerned about

RADIOTHERAPY to prostate. Nearly finished chemo/doxetaxel, am on ADT injections PSA 0.11,
oncologist recomends 6 radiotherapy to the prostate in march. Gleason 9, PCA mets in hip DX July ish. .Would any one mind giving experience and opinions on taking radiotherapy. I've said yes, but know it's 50/50 for any benifit, but realise there's a possible price to pay with side effects short and

Former patients of the late Dr Gordon Skinner
This post has two purposes. First, so that everyone knows about the research itself. Second, so that anyone who does feel strongly can make use of the opt-out. While hoping that few, if any, use this opt-out, it is nonetheless right and proper that each and every former patient knows of this opt-out

Salvage Options after Relapse
More radiation (and likely
ADT
) has its own issues. I understand I’m out of great choice but wondering if folks have salvage experiences to share? At only 56 looking for something that will get me pretty far down the road. thanks much.

First post-ADT vacation PSA test
And almost as important is that the side effects are quite minimal compared to my previous rounds of
ADT
. My energy is good. With the help of Sildenafil I can still achieve an erection. I just have some minimal hot flashes.

Strength Training Problem; Advice?
My only therapy for mPC DX 4 years ago has been
ADT
(Lupron & abiraterone). So far so good in that my PSA remains < 0.1 and occasional imaging indicates that my upper spine met isn’t growing. I’ve learned to live with all the usual SEs. Immediately after DX, I stepped up my exercising at the gym.

Thyroid medication update
So presently taking 60 NDT and 25 t4 synthroid. I couldn't tolerate 90 ndt so my doctor gave me 25 t4 as a slower release and doesn't hit as hard as ndt. So it seems this addition of t4 has helped me. My sleep is better, my eyebrows filling in more, the few pounds I was holding onto seem to have dropped
