Not Addison's?
I've just come back from my GP and she has given me the results of the
ACTH
stimulation test I have had done. BUT in the GP's words they are "advisory" only: Baseline cortisol: 622 30 mins: 915 60 mins: 985 So I guess that means Addison's is excluded.

Trouble with ordering adrenal stress test...
I was officially diagnosed with Hashimoto's 2 weeks ago and my endocrinologist has sent me for an
ACTH
test, the results of which have come back normal.

GP Appointment
- I asked him about this random stress urine test the Endo had done on me at my appointment and that the Endo told me that she would cancel the
ACTH
test if the urine test was normal.

Scan rescheduled for Tues due to heavy snow and extreme cold in Manhattan.
For patients at risk, a safe and reasonable way to proceed could be to taper GCs more slowly and to perform a first
ACTH
stimulation test before GC withdrawal. If this is abnormal, a second test should be performed after 12 and 24 months (if needed).

Stopping my thyroxine - a bad idea?
* I’m worried the
ACTH
result will be affected by the thyroxine. * I don’t feel any better on the thyroxine dose I am on. * Some people have accused me of being a hypochondriac.

Update. Hashimoto's confirmed but Endo thinks I could have Addison's as well. Does this make any sense?
My
ACTH
test is going to be booked quite urgently so they're looking at a week or 2 for me to have this done.

ACTH test
Iv got my
acth
test in a couple of weeks and wanted to know if it is dangerous if you produce high cotrisol naturally on that day. My 24 hour urine test was 34 range 10-175,so whilst my results were on the low side they were still within range.

Hi, new to this community and looking for advice/help with my symptoms.
My Endo wants me to undergo an
ACTH
test within the next week or so to check my adrenal function – is this a routine test for this illness? And is Addison’s linked to Hughes? I can post all latest blood test results if anyone wants me to. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

They have agreed to send me for
ACTH

So we're all fine then! Maybe a poem for Edinburgh!
But when faced with
ACTH
- wow your cortisol sure goes! Vit D - now there's a thought - we had you on maintenance dose, Perhaps you could now double - yes - let's say that'll take you close. Iron - well forget it you're now post menopause, It shouldn't make a difference and taking it's a bore.

Patients suspected of having secondary hypothyroidism may require referral to an endocrinologist to accurately make the diagnosis and for additional pituitary function tests (PRL, FSH, LH,
ACTH
/cortisol).

Does anyone else have tremors yet underactive thyroid levels are fine?
I have profound primary hypothyroidism and an
ACTH
level of 13 (adrenal insufficient). I am experiencing terrible tremors in my hands and feet, I had the tremors before I was diagnosed with the thyroid and adrenal problems, but they have returned and seem to be getting worse.
