My new rheumatologist said not to start new
actemra
which I got approved but do not have until I see her. Not sure when that will be as we are restricted until mid July. No one in hospital I was in and out in 1 1/2 hrs. Fastest ER ever.

GCA - PMR doing great after 2 months
Since my inflammatory markers are worthless for me, we will just watch for symptoms to see if an increase in medication or
Actemra
are indicated.

What We Did Right: Israeli Doctors Explain How They Beat the Coronavirus
To treat the inflammatory element of the illness, many doctors are using the drug
Actemra
(tocilizumab). “And in extreme cases steroids are also given as a treatment, which is controversial,” Shapira says.

A bit of a GCA flare...not bad
I can sort of understand why because I was on 125mg of Prednisone for two months and then 68 of methylprednisolone from October 2019 to December 2019 when he started reducing it in coordination with introducing
Actemra
.

Anyone currently on Kevzara?
I’ve run out of things to try and because I had great luck with another IL6 blocker (
Actemra
), I’m hoping this goes well.

Puzzled
Adding the drug
Actemra
has really helped. I am currently down to 4.5mg of Prednisone and 4mg of
Actemra
by IV once a month. I get headaches off and on all through the month. Some are pretty strong. I’ve had a biopsy of the temporal artery and an ultrasound of my head and upper body.

PMR and coronavirus
I’m on 5 mgs prednisone and because my GCA is a diagnosis that allows
Actemra
I just restarted the shots. I also went back on the Plaquinil. I am using very high doses of Vit. C and other natural products for viral infections.

Faint & dizzy with GCA
Actemra
was stopped a couple weeks b/c I have a cold. Had Boniva i.v. 10 days ago for osteo. The past 7 days I've had 4 episodes of dizziness, nausea & actually fainted twice. Pcp (last Friday phone call)said could be dehydration (I know I was not dehydrated any of the times it's happened.

Actemra, Methotrexate, and the immune system
Getting
actemra
infusions about every six weeks along with methotrexate (2X/week). Both are immunosuppresive. Any idea if this places me at more of a risk for things like the coronavirus? My dr. isn't convincing one way or the other. Any feedback appreciated.

Adrenal Fatigue
I told her I am going back on
Actemra
tomorrow, after being off a yr and she said she will retest me after
Actemra
. I don’t see how the
Actemra
will get my adrenals better. Is anyone on here that understands what I should go next. I’m feeling very sick in my nervous system.

Curly hair?
Right now, my memory is not my strong suit~~~but I think I have been on
Actemra
injections weekly for about three months for GCA, along with Medrol. My hair has gotten a bit thinner, not too bad, but quite curly, ringlets. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this?
