PMR and coronavirus

I’m like most of us that are seniors and have symptoms, thinking I could have this virus. For Almost two weeks now I am intermittently running a low grade fever with normals. I have an intermittent sore throat.

Because I fell on my cement patio I injured my shoulder. Been too worried to go to an MRI scan center. My black eye is gone but the shoulder is awful. I also need a procedure on the neck to a ablate roots. There is a more technical way to describe this . So between the aches from the PMR and the fall and the neck I am suffering. I’m on 5 mgs prednisone and because my GCA is a diagnosis that allows Actemra I just restarted the shots. I also went back on the Plaquinil.

I am using very high doses of Vit. C and other natural products for viral infections. I’m also on small dose of hydrocodone snd probably too much Tylenol.

Getting tested is still very difficult and I am too scared to do the test. Since no treatment exists I can just continue using my remedies.

Just wondering if all this extra pain can be a virus ! Of course the injury and need for the neck procedure may be causing this.

I live in Florida near Ft. Lauderdale that had been locked down. I have self quarantined and out of desperation will go to market but wear rubber gloves and a bandanna.

Just wonder how long the Coronavirus can linger on.

Any input on anything including suggestions in the integrative field will be very helpful.

Please stay safe.🙏

Aliesh there are little ordinary colds going on as well as stress effected the throat and glands. I have had that for a week or so. No scratchy throat more a soreness based in not bring able to swallow properly and glandy.

Importantly actemra info on the rxlist site says...

Common side effects of Actemra include:

runny or stuffy nose,

sinus pain,

sore throat,

headache,

dizziness,

itching,

mild stomach cramps, or

urinary tract infection (UTI).

I did read that the c-19 can last 2-6 wks.

Do you all have toilet paper? The greedy people keep purchasing and selling them on line.

They need to start a ration program for all cleaning products and chicken and meat.

The most difficult problem here is fear of going to market and then getting exposed to germs and still no supplies.

The child president only cares about money.

I’m getting IVIG at home and the nurse comes from a CVS co. They don’t have masks. I gave her one of my last ones during our 8 hr session. When I see her in three weeks I won’t have a mask. Probably cancel my infusion. Going to call my immunologist and report them to her but don’t think there is much she can do. Maybe I will call a TV station.

Can’t believe this nightmare. I can’t see my grand babies until this is over. We FaceTime a bit.

Thanks for letting me ramble here.

Hi aliesh I really appreciate the concern and question but all covid 19 questions are to be put in the covid chat. I answered your actemra part and would suggest you contact your Dr if you have any worries or more serious effects.

But it would be really, really helpful if you cut and pasted your second lots of questions onto today's chat as a "reply"...people can see it there and today's chat is about how people are adjusting to life in isolation/lockdown so should get answers/comments. If you can't cut and paste please just write the first bit and other aspects that you are adjusting too. I am turning off replies for now but this may change later on. Thanks for understanding.🌻
