Belly button abscess recurring

Hi guys and girls again, You are my source of information because I don’t have a consultant as I’m on W & W. It’s about the 4th time in 2 years that I’ve had an abscess in my belly button which has become infected and treated with antibiotics. Is this related to my CLL ? In fact this was how My CLL was

Antibiotics for tooth abscess whilst on Pred update

Thank you so much to everyone who gave me wonderful advice. I don't know what I would do without this forum. So, I had a wisdom tooth out week on Tues and it was absolute agony. I had had an abscess on it since Dec and throughout lockdown , heavy filled etc, lost filling and knew it had to go. So

Thoracic window

Hello there. Not been on here for a while. Following a nine year history of lung cancer and pneumonectomy I unfortunately had to have clagetts procedure last year which has now left me with a thoracic window. Having been reassured at the time that I would have a closure within months with a skin graft

CLL and melanoma

Hello This is my first post on this forum. I am a 58 your old man, and I was diagnosed with CLL two years ago. I have been asymptomatic, and have been monitored on a “watch and wait” basis, with blood tests every 6 months. A couple of weeks ago, I became concerned about a mole on my back, and went to

Another unique mystery about the liver.

Every now and again I like to post some interesting facts about this most wonderous organ. Those of you who have completed the two online liver courses, "Liver Disease: Looking after Your Liver" and "Liver Transplant: the Ins and Outs" will know of Dr Patricia Laylor. Back in 2017 Dr Laylor and I

Dont like my penis

I've recently been dealing with alot of stress when it comes to my penis and around that area, I was born with a buried penis, sevre hypospadias and undeceding testicles. I've had everything fixed apart from my hypospadias. Although I've had some operations it still dosent look normal and never will,

Skin cancer on my eyelid

Hi I’m feeling pretty angry with my GP! Despite my insistent assertive concerns with a lump on my right eye ‘that I also saw the Gp for last years” he wouldn’t see me. He said that it was probably just a cyst! I paid private and had my thoughts confirmed that it is skin cancer. It’s going to cost me

Differences in those with or without a thyroid

One area tends to confound me a bit here. I’m in the US and focused on thyroid cancer and those of us who have had thyroidectomies. This is one of the best thyroid forums around (excellent information, great mods and caring support) and I often refer folks who come to our US thyroid cancer forum here

Biological therapy

Hi I have Rheumatoid arthritis for 46 years. I have had many joint replacements and too numerous treatments to mention, I was on Methotrexate for 20 years, but it damaged my liver, then Azathioprine for 5 years, which was no longer effective. Been on Prednisolone for last 6 months due to Covid

Skin cancer does NOT only occur in moles‼️

Skin cancer does NOT only occur in moles‼️ The other (non-mole) basic warning signs we suggest you look out for are: 📍A new red or darker colour flaky patch that may be a little raised 📍A new flesh-coloured firm bump 📍An open sore that doesn't heal 📍A spot or sore that continues to itch, hurt

Beyond Graduation

I’ve really enjoyed my running since I graduated a month ago. Have been consolidating with 3 runs a week, mixing up quicker 3k’s, a couple of slower 6k’s and some really comfortable 5k’s on new routes, different terrains and with music or podcasts depending on my mood. I also do 3 workouts a week; one

Latest test results

Diagnosed Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto - Currently taking Teva 100mcg Levothyroxine, supplements: MagCitra, Vitamin B-Complex, D3, Ferrous Sulphate. Other symptoms made me further explore possible Lyme disease. Any further info on these results would be much appreciated.
