Advice on bloods
I am posting this for my daughter - she is in the process of joining but can’t post yet and is desperate for help. She has had various ongoing health issues since her teenage years. She was diagnosed with PCOS when she was 24. She developed gestational diabetes whilst pregnant and then postpartum thyroiditis

Iodine Contrast - content
I had swelling of the feet within a few days after CT with iodine with contrast. This could be coincidence but the following link states that some contrast agents have silicates in them. Silicates are the cause of podoconiasis (a syndrome like elephantiasis of the feet.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Positive rai experience?
Hi I’m wondering whether rai is my next move. (Diagnosed with Graves, block and replace fail after 4weeks. 4 months carbimazole - B & R 6.5 months = 10.5 months of treatment in total). I know my endo will advise me to have this treatment when I see him soon. I’m not an assertive person so I know I may

Iodine kelp supplement
I have been taking levothyroxine for around 20 years. My most recent blood tests showed TSH to be 3.16 which is unusual for me a sim usually well controlled between 1.08 and around 2.5. I don’t want to increase my medication dosage. Would a supplement containing iodine or kelp help to improve my thyroid

Perspective on blood test results?
Hi everyone I am looking for some extra perspective on my blood test results. I think that most of the symptoms I'm experiencing are because I have quite high rT3 and bottom of the range T3. I am currently on 50mcg levo and 20mcg T3 with my doctor aiming to increase my T3 to 30mcg over the next few weeks

Numbness in fingers of left hand
Hi everyone, For some weeks, I have been waking in the night with numb fingers. Is this a symptom of hypothyroidism or is it a side effect of levothyroxine? I take levo any time between 3.30 and 4.30 a.m. If it's a side effect of levo can I safely ignore it? It doesn't trouble me at all in the day.

My take on pain after injections!!
I had such pain after my injection yesterday ( about 3 hours later- i assume when the anaesthetic drops wore off- it was horrendous!! Today it is like a bad first day but can open my eye now- still fuzzy vision The only other time I had pain was when a trainee put the speculum in which holds the eye

Goitre/Thyroiditis
Hi all. Yesterday I woke up with a lump on the right side of my neck. Suspected thyroid enlarged/goitre but it hasn’t been confirmed. I had the flu 2 weeks ago and still have a cough that brings up phlegm and I’m fatigued every day. My ears are also still blocked and pop every day and I didn’t feel myself
