I'm looking for advise and would appreciate any comments or info
I have had thyroid test done and the results are
Tsh 2.26
Free thyroxine 12.4
T4 87.1
Ft3 5.0
Thyroglobulin antibody 281.000
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies 395
My Dr says my thyroid is completely normal. I have had symptoms for over 35 years. My mother had Graves during her pregnancy with me and her thyroid removed 4 months into the pregnancy
She was also treated with radioactive iodine either before, during or after the pregnancy. Thank you

Is this a GP test or a private one? Can you please add the reference ranges for your results. Ranges vary from lab to lab and to accurately interpret your results we need the ranges from the lab that did your tests. We know that your TSH will be in range, but FT4 and FT3 we can't tell where in range they are. As your GP has said your thyroid is "normal" I'm guessing they are somewhere in the range.
One thing this obvious though is that your antibodies are raised and confirm autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's, which is where antibodies attack the thyroid and gradually destroy it. Antibodies fluctuate and the antibody attacks cause fluctuations in symptoms and test results.
Most doctors dismiss antibodies as being of no importance and know little or nothing about Hashi's and how it affects the patient, test results and symptoms. You need to read, learn, understand and help yourself where Hashi's is concerned.
You can help reduce the antibodies by adopting a strict gluten free diet which has helped many members here. Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks. You don't need to be gluten sensitive or have Coeliac disease for a gluten free diet to help.
Supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily can also help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.
Hashi's and gut absorption problems tend to go hand in hand and can very often result in low nutrient levels or deficiencies. It would be a good idea to test Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin, post the results on the forum and members can suggest supplements if any low levels or deficiencies are apparent.
