EXPERIENCE OF RITUXIMAB AND TRIXUMA INFUSIONS TO CONTROL RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS - ALSO USE OF ABATACEPT with or without Methotrexate therapy
She then suggested I should have
Abatacept
, but my local hospital CCG insists I must have Methotrexate with it. Yet I have read research papers stating
Abatacept
monotherapy does work. The odd excuse the CCG give is that it is cheaper to use both injections.

However due to being on methotrexate and
abatacept
and the fact that my immune system is lowered I have checked with GP and was told it "wasn't recommended". I don't want to obviously do anything risky and create problems for myself. I assume it could cause an infection.

Orencia (abatacept)
My rheumatologist wants to put me on a monthly infusion of Orencia after having failed to find relief with all the standard oral meds (most of which caused terrible rashes, mouth sores, and/or hair loss) 😕. I must wait for insurance to approve it however, and fear it is going to be very expensive due

Already tried and reacted badly to Benepali &
Abatacept
. I know I need to try others, depo injections are only easing pain for 6-8weeks, but I am so nervous I will react the same way that I'm not sure if any symptoms then all are just in my head ITMS.

A bit of a quandary
Does anyone else share my fear(s) in that because we are told about the cost(s) of treatment (I’m currently on weekly home injections of
Abatacept
which I’m told costs £13k per annum per patient) I begin to feel either (a) I’m not appreciative of the drugs and/or illogically feeling I’m guilty after

Anyone tried Abatacept to replace methotrexate and prednisolone?
I've been on methotrexate for two years for my rheumatoid arthritis, which gave me nodules in my lungs and ILD. The methotrexate was replaced by fluminomide and I've been taking prednisone and mycophenolate for the lung problem. A different rheumatologist has recommended that I change treatment to

Remisima biologic infusion
Morning everyone, I am due to have my bio infusion changed from
abatacept
to remisama and was wondering if anyone else is on this drug and what side effect I can expect. How was it for you did it ease your symptoms?

Abatacept and a chest infection !
Hi everyone, I have only been on
Abatacept
injections for seven weeks and I must admit to feeling a bit strange directly after injecting myself. So, I do give myself time to just sit for a bit until the feeling has past.

Decisions, decisions ?
My rheumatology doctor has suggested putting me on
Abatacept
, but having read the leaflet he gave me, it says not suitable for patients who have had cancer.

I am currently on Leflunomide, Xathioprine &
Abatacept

Inflammation in the lungs ?
The good news is that my Rheumatology doctor is going to start me on
Abatacept
in the next week or so. (Any info from anyone on
Abatacept
most welcome). Anyway, I’m going through all the usual tests in preparation to start this medication, as we do.

Travelling to Australia - advice please
The problem is that the furthest I have been since being diagnosed with lupus and RA is Austria and since then I have been prescribed
Abatacept
, which needs refrigerating. Does anyone have any tips about managing the journey to Australia/NZ?
