I know not many of us on this forum regularly do some indoor rowing. But I did want to share this post-row stretching poster.
Indoor rowing is fabulous cross training for running and every gym has at least one rowing machine that I would encourage every runner to have a go on.
For getting to grips with technique and the rowing machine, I would recommend the YouTube channel RowAlong, brought to us by Scottish Coach John Steventon. A kind of Coach Bennett for the rowing world! I definitely can recommend his channel and he has also a lively Facebook community. He put together a playlist of his free row-along training videos that should be able to get everyone up and rowing: youtube.com/playlist?list=P...
For post row stretches, his rowing community has recently released a post-row stretching poster, that I wanted to share. It was designed by Matthew Brown for Rowalong, and the full PDF. can be downloaded from the RowAlong website at rowalong.com/wp-content/upl...?
Rowing has made a huge difference to me. I needed low impact exercise and rowing delivers. It has done wonders for my glutes, which are often a runner’s weak spot. And my knees and ankles have never been better. As an added benefit, my upper body gets a workout, too.
Any more question about rowing just ask or head over to his technique primer at rowalong.com/how-to-row/
Keep on keeping on, and also row on!
