I row indoors for cross training, although as a low-impact activity I find myself rowing more than running, nowadays.
So with following a 8-week plan to 10k, I rowed ca 4 to 5 times per week (and ran 2-3 times/week).
But today I hit a milestone!
I did it!!! 10k ROWING time trial done!!!
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
And I managed to hit my target of staying under 60 minutes!
Managed to row that hour at 2k+10 (in running terms, that’s a ok 10k pace). So pretty happy!!!
🙊 1st panic came when I realised I had forgotten to unscrew water bottle cap! So that was my first fumble in the 1st interval!
🙉2nd panic at 6k in when I realised my usb power cable wasn’t plugged in. That interval shows my fumbling.
🙈 3rd panic at 7k-ish when I realised I should have put my tennis sweat band on as sweat was dangerously close to dripping into my eyes! But after starting to feel weak, I gulped half of my water, which gave me quite an energy boost.
All Lessons learned. Next, I’ll be enjoying some casual rows without a plan or workout! Some things I’ll be trying next with my trusty indoor rower:
- one 10k per 2 weeks
- some casual rowing on Zwift with a discord audio channel
- some casual races with ErgRace, also with a discord channel
- and then either some more current RowAlongs, or starting the HM plan!
Happy Workout Weekend!
