Yesterday I successfully completed my 30 day yoga challenge; one session a day, every day for 30 days. I loved it. So easy to fit into my day as it could literally be done at any time (not weather dependent, not food dependent, not shower dependent, not daylight dependent ...). It felt good when doing it. It was calming and relaxing. I feel stronger and more flexible. I even improved over the 30 days! It was a wholly positive experience. So I've started another 30 day series, also from Adriene. This one is called True and has been road-tested by cheekychipmunks and is being road-tested by TailChaser .
Hopefully I've established a new, healthy habit, and the strength aspect is an unexpected bonus (Adriene even makes push ups seem relaxing - no, really, she does πππ)

That's really brilliant Linda. I know its only around 20 mins each day, your commitment is impressive. πI can see how doing the moves regularly will make them easier too.
I need to get my act together and give it a try. Just not feeling up to it yet...but you are so inspiring! π§ββοΈπxxx
Thank you π. I would say wait until your foot is better if you do want to try it. I've been very aware of my bruised toe whilst doing the sessions this week! You must be getting very frustrated now though - sounds like you could do with some relaxing meditation sessions π
Yes, definitely agree with that one. I have arthritis in my toes and some moves irritate them so if youβve got an injury that would heal Iβd play safe for now.x
Adriene is ace. I find her funny too which helps, and the fact she has Benji with her lots of the time is lovely. π Have fun doing True. I canβt wait to go live in January. ππ§ββοΈ
Youβre so right, yoga is easy to fit in any time and it really does build strength and flexibility. Have you ever tried the Deep Body Stretch practice (might not be the right title)? Itβs intense, but wow you feel good afterwards! πͺ
Yay Linda! Thank you for persuading me to give them a go. The exercises have been a great focus and do the job nicely for stretching after a run too. Nothing on True has been toooo taxing so far although balance has been a bit of an issue in a couple π Sheβs also very forgiving and realistic if you canβt bend like she can. And my cat does a great impression of Benji dog and sleeps through most of it next to me π
That's all good to hear. Watch out though - she repeatedly says she'll catch me if I fall... but I wasn't so aware of that when I fell off my crow perch, maybe Benji had distracted her for a moment π
Well done Linda, that's great you got so much out of it π I am on day 10 today, have enjoyed them all so far, some moves I can't do but like you say, she gives you alternatives if you're a bit on the stiff side! She is such a sweetheart, I look forward to my time with her each day! π
I will finish on Christmas day so just in time to start the new one in January! π€
There's much room for improvement for me too, but I like that she makes you feel OK about that. The preamble to the True series emphasises that too. I guess it's another journey, just like running π
Is Julia Marie online too ... off to google π. As a beginner, I'm torn between the familiarity of Adriene and the fresh perspective of someone new π, but it's great to know there's so much out there to explore.
