Hi could be a trapped nerve in your neck when your asleep. I use to wake up at night because the discomfort in my hand woke me and I found that my hands were numb too. After a long talk with my GP they sent me for an X-ray and diagnosed Osteoarthritis of my neck so if you lie in a funny position at night you can squash a nerve which rights itself when you sit up and stretch or massage. Hope this helps..
I have general muscle and joint stiffness but my hands are the most consistently stiff. Pretty much every morning when I wake I have to move them around to get them working, for me it is palms as well as fingers. I've so used to it now it seems normal
I have had similar symptoms with hand numbness usually partial, occasionally waking me at night. I have the same diagnosis as you. The Gp said it was due to the Reynauds (this was before I was diagnosed with L Scleroderma). I have to shake my hand to get it to 'come back'. I have never mentioned it to my Rheumy. It's a strange thing as the colour is normal.
Thank you for your comments, seems like it's just another problem that accurs with Raynauds and Crest π . X
I too have some numbness and tingle in fingertips as well as pain and severe stiffness/ tightness in my knuckles on waking each morning. First told it was RA, then 2 years later, Raynauds with inflammatory arthritis Then I was told it was small fibre neuropathy. Now I'm told it's Sjogren's with secondary neuropathy and Raynauds. Being tested for Scleroderma next month. I do also have arthritis in my neck but the small fibre neuropathy is too diffuse to be explained by arthritis I am told. Personally I think it's all vascular/ Raynauds and not really sure about the neuropathy any more although I know it's quite possibly both.
