Hello Everyone I am writing this on behalf of my daughter she is 15 and has been getting red bumps on her fingers for years. She has recently asked to be taken to get them checked out as she has started getting them more frequently and they are more painful. She used to get them 3 times a year now she gets them at least every month but every 2 weeks in the winter. She says that they happen when the weather changes and appear on her finger joints but she has never noticed them on her feet. She has had Raynauds since she was very young, which she got from me but I have never experienced this. We have been to her GP but she has no idea what they are.
small lumps on fingers: Hello Everyone... - Scleroderma & Ray...
small lumps on fingers
I started getting these last winter. I saw a rheumatologist in March and he told me that I had covid fingers. I have had no more until this month when the weather turned cold again. Now they are erupting in the same way as they did last year. I don't know if they are the same as your daughters but mine definitely react to changes in temperature but aren't typical Reynauds as they don't disappear when my hands warm up. They can be excrutiatingly painful and disrupt my sleep.
I am very interested in replies to your post. My GP suspected Lupus or scleroderma but the rheumatologist said that tests ruled this out.
They appear due to changes in temperature but don’t disappear for about a week but they do take a few days to form
A family member now in her 40s has had this problem for years and has never managed to get to the bottom of what causes them. I suspect it’s related to an auto immune condition of some sort. I’ve undergone alsorts of investigations over the years trying to get to the bottom of my own symptoms ( not bumps on fingers though) but have never had a definitive diagnosis,

Have you tried a dermatologist. Might be good idea.
Hello MoietTuI have exactly the same issue and they are triggered by a constant change in temperature. Often associated with swollen fingers which can become sore.
I have not sought GP advice as I have assumed it's all part of my poor circulation / Raynaud's / chilblains. I find Balmosa chilblain cream helpful and after a few days my fingers will calm down, albeit they will flare up again but I do get some relief in between.
Another suggestion would be to ensure gloves are worn, ideally before her hands start to get cold and not to warm cold hands on direct heat such as radiators!
Hope this helps and I hope your daughter finds something that gives her some relief.
Btw, just read Billybob's reply ... interesting to read a similar experience.
