My mum has raynaud's & scleroderma. And has just had major surgery to have her large bowel removed as the blood supply stopped and her bowel died so she now has a storm. It's been the most terrifying 4 weeks of my life! We came so close to losing mum but thankfully she's still here! This is all new to me, my mum has lost so many friends that she's made on social media through this awful condition. I'd like to try and give a little help to this wonderful organisation by raising funds can any one help me and give me advice on how to do so??

What a terrible thing - it sounds like your Mum has had a dreadful time. You need to contact the Raynauds & Scleroderma Association at 112-114 Crewe Rd, Alsager, Stoke-on-Trent ST7 2JA. Phone: 01270 872776. It's a non-profit organisation and the people I have spoken to there are very kind and helpful. The association raises money for ongoing research into raynaud's and scleroderma. If you join for a small fee, they will send you a very informative newsletter from time to time which includes useful articles and a good question and answer section.

I have had raynaud's and scleroderma for over 20 years and although the illness is a tough one on a day-to-day basis, I have never had a major upset like your Mum.

I'm no expert, but I would be happy to chat to her on FB or on this page. Please feel free to contact me here.

Wishing you and your Mum all the very best,

RTM.

What a terrible time you and your Mum have had. I am so glad it's turned out all right in the end. But you will need the support of the Raynaud's and Sleroderma Association and does your Mum have a specialist like a rheumatologist apart from the GP to look after her.

Hi Lisa. So sorry to hear this, it sounds like you are all having a horrible time at the moment but your mum sounds like such a strong woman. Thank you so much for wanting to support us. If you could drop me a note to lucy@raynauds.org.uk that would be great and we can take it from there. Best wishes. Lucy
