Just now discovering things I really never wanted to know.

Hello,

I just joined to see what everyone is talking about. I have been diagnosed with serous cell uterine Stage III by one doc and Stage IV by another doc.

I've had 6 rounds of chemotherapy of paclitaxal and carboplatin. In addition I am HER2+. So I received transtuzamab along with chemo.

Had surgery last month supracervical hysterectomy, bilateral oopherectomy, omenectomy. I'm now recovering from the surgery and its not fun. Had a exploratory lap incision and so far I'm ok. Very sore and not up to exercising as before.

70 years old in very good heath and in great shape. Good heart and lungs.Bladder and bowel systems are ok.

I will not be doing adjuvant radiology as the radiologist has determined there is no need at this time.

I will resume the Transtuzamab infusions next week and will have those infusions for at least one year every three weeks.

I suppose there is no cure for this type of cancer of the endometrium. Makes me sad 😥

Hi there. I finally realized that is is our new norm. I was sitting around not living, waiting to die or be cured. Well after 6 rounds of The same chemo regimen, neither happened. So now, I am on to living with a chronic disease.m

It might take you a while, or hopefully, you will figure it out faster than I did.

Here is to a glass of red wine, walking the dog and seeing friends and family!!!

I didn't have as extensive surgery as you did and recovered within a week or two after both my hysterectomy and oopherectomy. After my second surgery, I had 6 rounds of carbo/taxol which worked initially but 10 months later I had a recurrence on my vaginal cuff. I am now on Lenvima and Keytruda for an indefinite period of time. Keytruda is ok. Lenvima is a pill you take daily and it is brutal. My oncologist is great and is working with me to get to where I can tolerate the side effects and live my life. My life includes riding and showing horses, traveling, going to concerts, gardening and spending time with family.

Try to find something positive to focus on every day and be as active as you can, I found that focusing on healing, eating well, and being as active as poosible at each stage left little time for non positive thoughts. Also join focus groups so you can talk or listen (or both) to others on similar journeys.

Don't think about the stages etc. just decide you will follow the best doctor's advice and live in the present. The past is gone and the future isn't he yet. No one's story is the same so just live for right now.

Do not consult Dr. Google or even other people just decide on your doctor and just do it!
