I had a 25 year hiatus from stage 2 BC. Diagnosed Mets to spine 3 years ago. I did radiation, xgeva and letrozole. My last Signatera test showed my cancer is returning . Onc is suggesting Verzinio and Fulsverant.
I am not sure if I want to sick on the Verzinio….debating taking my chances without it. I am 73.
Anybody else taking this combination?
Thank you in advance and very warmest wishes to you all.

hi Peggy , I'm sorry about your recurrence . I was started on Ibrance / fulvestrant when I had my recurrence in 2019, 11 years after stage 1 node negative cancer dx and treatment . After 5 years on Ibrance scans showed possible progression so my oncologist switched me to Kisqali which is a similar drug to Ibrance and Verzenio. Ibrance and Kisqali have been easy for me to tolerate . Verzenio I have not tried but a lot of patients have diarrhea and abdominal cramping as side effects in V. As I am still working I didn't want to risk having that side effect . Of course, not everyone experiences side effects and you can always try it and see how it goes .
Please see Aprilfoolz1's response as well. I think the research is quite clear that Kisqali is becoming the drug of choice in breast cancer cases, especially those, like yours and mine, which occur in old age. Best of luck with yours, Cindy (age 79, extensive CA mets for 5+ years)
I took Verzenio and Faslodex for 7 years. Verzenio can cause diarrhea, but I didn't get it. Faslodex shots were painful and left big lumps in the butt. Overall it was pretty tolerable and worked great for me!
I am on Verzenio and letrozole for 9 months. Verzenio has not been so bad. Diarrhea first two month, after tat two times per month max. The worst were cramps. What really helped me was taking probiotics, 60 000 counts two times per day. Since I take probiotics, no cramps. Good luck with your treatment
I had a rough time, not terrible, on Verzenio but not on Ibrance or Kisqali. (I started on Ibrance and fulvestrant and was NEAD for a couple of years.) I agree with HazelGreen. Of the three targeted meds, Kisqali, the newest, is thought to be the best. I have a friend with brain mets, though, and she had to take Verzenio, Maybe it crosses the blood-brain barrier better?
