Has anyone had breast cancer Mets in para aortic lymph nodes?
I have mets to the intrathoracic lymph node. I have been living with MBC since 12/2019. I am currently on Kisqali (Ribociclib) & Faslodex (Fulvestrant).
I am on Fulvestrant for my MBC with Mets to liver. For several months. Stable.
I have had mets to my lymph nodes since 2019. My right arm is permanently swollen as a result. I take ribociclib with letrozole, and my cancer markers stay in the normal range. However, I assume that the existing cancer in my lymph nodes, lungs, spleen, etc. remains as is, and does not grow or shrink.
Hi Thredbo2, I was dx stage IV 11/2019 with breast cancer in many nodes in my chest (hilar , mediastinal and thoracic nodes ) . I've been on Ibrance and Fulvestrant since 11/2019. All these nodes cleared up by my scans in Sept of 2020 and have not been noted , since . Has your oncologist discussed adding a cdk4/6 drug ?
thanks for replying Aprilfoz1. I see my Oncologist in a couple of weeks so will find out the next step. Only started Fulvestrant last month when him the PET scan was reviewed and was sent for a paraortic biopsy due to multiple hot spots in the area. I’ve previously been on Letrozole and Ibrance but the ibrance was stopped in 2021 after a hip replacement and radiation to remove bone Mets in the hip in 2021. Really I’ve been very fortunate in keeping clear for some time.
Thanks for the addl info . I'd want the recent biopsy sample checked for any newly acquired mutations and current er/pr status. Keep us posted. It's good that you've been stable for some time.
thanks Aprilfoolz. I visited my oncologist today and finally got the updated pathology from the biopsy. It’s triple negative so it’s going for further testing to see if I meet the PDL1 criteria for immunotherapy. I’ll continue with fulvestrant injections until then in case I also have hormone positive cells as I have had both types. Apart from being disappointed with the unexpected results, I’m feeling fine and hope to fit in a family holiday in September before starting on this regime (and/or chemo).
