Good Morning from Pennsylvania!!!! I am 41 diagnosed with widespread bone only mets in March. My 8/25 petscan showed no evidence of active disease. All of my tumor markers as of 9/22 are normal. At a follow up with my breast surgeon she felt abnornal lymp nodes in my arm pit opposite of my breast cancer site. After doing an ultrasound shes certain there's cancer in my lymph nodes. I am scheduled for a biopsy on 10/18. I am on ibrance 125 letrozole 2.5. I am FREAKING OUT! Has anyone has something similar happen? If so, what did they do as far as your treatment plan? Thanks!

Where are you being treated? i was raised in the Philadelphia area. None of us would know what meds they will try next. We all need to realize that when you have cancer you are always going to have lymph nodes affected (whether or not they are showing any cancer at the time). Our lymphatic system is the largest and throughout our bodies and is what carries so much throughout our bodies all the time (good and bad).

There are several meds that are the next line of treatment and possibly the doc will just suggest radiation of nodes and no other change.

This disease is so very difficult to deal with. The one constant is, "this too will change."

I am so sorry that you have to go through this! How old were you when first got BC?

Hi, there are some studies showing the covid vaccine might affect lymph nodes also. Take a look on that. Good luck in the biopsy. You seem to be doing really well on treatment

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for all of these responses!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?!?!? YES!! Its looking like its from the vaccine!! I found an article called the office and they are like "oops, sorry" They are doing a rescan in 4 weeks but WHAT A SCARE!!!

I know. I had read that the covid vaccine causes lymph nodes to swell. The article stated that if you have breast cancer, you should get the covid shot in your thigh rather than your arm, but when I went for my shots, no one was trained to do that! So disappointing.

The article also said to schedule any mammograms or scans for 6 weeks after shots!
