again with the swollen calves and ankles

today is 4th day of my Kisqali cycle and my calves and ankles are doing the same thing as last month. Unless I keep my feet elevated my calves and ankles swell. It all subsides over night. This went away completely during the break. So far no one else has mentioned this side effect.

Hi jltorcz. Sorry that you are experiencing this side effect. Actually all the information teaching sheets I have looked at list edema especially in the lower extremities as very common. Unless it is severe they just recommend elevating your feet when you are sitting and while sleeping. Occasionally the oncology team can prescribe a diuretic to decrease the swelling but with your age that might introduce other issues as they can cause electrolyte imbalances. Talk with your team and decide whether this is a side effect that you can learn to manage to see if it improves after several cycles and your body adjusts or of course the alternative if it's affecting your quality of life would be to change medications. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the input. I guess I didn't notice that side effect.

I am so sorry you have this. I was a nurse and NP for many years and swelling in feet and legs always was so upsetting to our patients there was usually not much we had to offer but this was always a very disturbing side effect.
