swollen ankles

has anyone gotten swollen ankles on Kisqali? I am sure it is the medicine causing it. It happened once with instance but went away in a day. The swelling does go down almost completely at night but after standing a lot doing a project, wow did they swell. Feet up now. Hopefully will calm down. I don’t want to be taken off medicine but I guess I should tell doctor.

Call your oncologist as soon as possible to report the new symptoms. The swelling could be caused by other things, not the medicine, and only a doctor could make that diagnosis. During my first physical exam following suspected recurrence the oncologist examined my ankles and legs for swelling to determine if cancer had possibly spread to the liver.

I'm your age, and have been on Kisqali for 2+ years. My ankles have not swollen, and my breast cancer spread to my liver before I started on Kisqali. I have cancer in a number of places besides the liver - lymph nodes, bones, skin, spleen.

well the doctor said to watch it and contact him if it gets worse. But it does concern me a lot I am my 3rd week on Kisqali, 4th day and sitting with my feet up. I really felt off this morning , just heavy all over but when sitting ok.

I'm sorry to read this as complications aren't fun. Since Kisqali seems to be an effective medicine, I hope your body starts to tolerate it better. Good luck with it! Cindy

Yes, I hope so too. I am at the full dose so maybe my doctor will try lower dose.

This happened to me when I was on ibrance and faslodex. The reason was dvts, so I started taking xarelto. Blood clots and dvts are a possible side effect of faslodex, and oncologists and other doctors will tell you they are a side effect of cancer in general. Hope you get it resolved!

Blood clots, I was told, are a side effect of cancer and of most of the mbc medications. When I began treatment, my oncologist was always freaking out about it, and about shortness of breath, and would order CT scans (I think it was CT). Swollen feet can also be from heart not pumping, right? Kisqali is the only one that requires frequent ekg's.

Yea, there must be many reasons for swollen feet. Such as, in my experience, high-dose steroid pre-meds leaving the body 😅.

my instructions are to call specifically if swelling on me leg only and there is pain. It’s like clock work how the swelling goes away after sleeping all night and when I keep my feet up a lot during the day.
