I had another blood test and my neutrophils stil below 100 so I cN’t start the Kisqali yet. My oncologist was going to inquire if I could get an injection of neupogen to elevate the neutrophil count. I will have my 3rd lab next week to see where the count is then.
I don’t love what I read about the injection.

This is common and I too did not like what I read either and they used accufil and fligrasm(sp). So, I have been loading up on many things, plus taking a multivitamin, plus iron and omega3 fatty fish pill and it is working naturally. Livestrong I think website I found this information. Neutrophils, need lot's of VC-guava is highest, kiwi is next, vit E, Zinc, vb-12, almonds, avocado, nuts, beans, kale and other greens and Turkey. Hemoglobin - eggs, red LEAN meat, organ meant but I won't eat it, beetroot, prune juice or prunes, kidney beans, peanuts, chitosan and nettle tea and flaxseed oil too. Hope it helps. The list was long and these are what I have been eating. Actually, making a smoothie with berries, beetroot, kiwi.s, carrots, spinach and kale with pomegranate juice. Some meds interact with pomergranate, so make sure yours does not.
My white count is always running low at my monthly visits to Onc for blood tests and Faslodex injections. I’m usually given neupogen to help stimulate bone marrow production of white cells. I have not experienced any adverse reactions to neupogen.
I have read that Turkey Tail mushrooms can help with WBC. If you go that route look at the supplement facts for fruiting bodies. Another option, although I have never tried, is shark liver oil
I have been on Ibrance for a bit over 4 years. Low wbc/ anc is common with Ibrance and Kisqali . My onc would not give me neupogen shots as an addl week off is enough for the neurophils to rise and her opinion is the white blood cells are suspended not killed off . Regardless, neupogen will work !
After lowering the Ibrance dose I've consistently had anc counts over .80 and have not had any issues so my onc let's me restart Ibrance if my anc is over .80 .
*** I just learned that if I get my blood test in the afternoon my wbc and anc are higher ! Next blood test go in the afternoon and see if it rises. It's usually the case and can be enough to make a difference .
I was neutropenia even before starting Kisqali, so had to do some research on the topic. I ended up taking Reishi and Turkey Tail mushrooms. They've helped. It might take pretty high dosage to see an impact. I take 6g of Reishi (cracked spore) and 6g of Turkey Tail daily.
My oncologist told me neupogen shots given after chemo infusions but since CDK4/6 inhibitors drugs like Ibrance, Kisquali etc is a an oral med you would continually have to get it every month and not advisable. Lower dose is what we tried. I asked about Turkey Tail mushroom etc to boost my white count/ANC and she said not to chance it since there’s been no studies or trials how it may interact with the efficacy of oral meds.
