I’m supposed to begin Kisqali this. I’m waiting for Medicare approval. Does anyone have experience with this drug

kisqali experience
I was on it for 4 months. It was a study. It did not work for me. I had small progression after 4 months. But my onc took me off and put me on Piqray.
Hi
It was my first line of treatment after diagnosis. I felt fine with no physical symptoms and it worked well to shrink my primary in the 2-3 months that I was on it.
Unfortunately I could not tolerate it as I developed a body rash on my arms and legs and my liver enzymes went too high.
I went on to Ibrance afterwards...which I continue to tolerate well now after taking it for about a year and a half.
Best wishes
Zoe
I have ben on Kisqali for almost 3 years for Mbc in the liver. Luckily it is still working. At first I had serious side effects such as rush and lynphedema, diarrhea and fatigue. Then, after 3 months, they lowered the dose and I have been fine since thenI have been NED since I started it
I’ve been on it 8 months working great. Side effects for me are fatigue on day 3 of week off. Meaning the week I don’t take it I get tired on day 3 but then my energy comes back by day 5 off drug. It was burning my throat and stomach but I found Blade Paps on Amazon it’s potato starch and I put the 3 pills in the wrapper and the burning stopped.
Drink lots of water it does help.
Sending you positive energy that it works for you 😇🙏
I have been on it for a year now. It shrunk two of my tumors to NED and is shrinking the primary tumor as well. Fatigue is my biggest side effect even after changing to one week on, one week off, although I manage it better.
Hello - I was on it for a very short period of time; however, my liver enzymes went very high (ALT above 1,000) and discontinued the drug. Unfortunately, I had to go on steroids to get the numbers down. 3 months later I am still on steroids and my ALT is now about 2x above normal.
similarly to a couple of other ladies here, my ALT counts elevated to over 500 and I had to be taken off Kisqali.
It took 5 months for it to come back into range before I could start ibrance.
I am six months into ibrance and things are going well.
All the best to you ok kisqali. I hope it works for you
Kim
I’m also debating on starting Kisqali, side effects seem more severe than the Ibrance . I’ve tolerated Ibrance very well but oncologist at and Anderson said Kisqali is better for pre menopausal . I think it all depends on each individual. Go with you instincts
it worked great on reducing the cancer, but it took my blood counts too low. It can be a rough go for some. However, some do great.
