Potential immunotherapy for MBC

Hello ladies, it is my first post, I am writing from a small country in Europe, and I felt very grateful in the past months to discover your stories, since I've been diagnosed with de novo MBC (bone mets in spine and pelvis) this January, being aged 33. It gave me a lot of knowledge about my disease, and also strength to accept my diagnose and treatment, since I was in shock to find out at that time that they say there is no cure for it.

It is not a good time now to share my story, but since I do a lot of research on clinical trials and ongoing studies aiming to cure, that I cannot access from my country, I figured I should share it with you, maybe some of you in the United States can benefit or advocate for those studies.

One study is about two combined immunotherapies that cured the bone metastases in mice, it was done by doctor Sheila Stewart and her team at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, see the link below:

The other is a vaccine that seems to have cured MBC author Stephanie Gangi, developed at Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Institute in New York, by dr. Tom Marron.

If you have any news on this you might want to share, otherwise I wish it brings you a little hope, as it did to me.

My best wishes to all of you!

A.

Hi Any1989. Welcome to this great international community of people seeking to share information and support each other through MBC. Thank you for posting these two great articles on immunotherapy. This evening I watched a Documentary about Twyla Tharp, an innovator of modern dance. She ended her Documentary talking about how hard her dancers work to reach breathtaking performances by saying: “In the end the dancer knows, the only way through for the dancer, is forward”. I thought isn’t that just the same for all of us, including MBC thrivers. I believe immunotherapy, vaccines and t-cell therapy will be some of those ways forward. Wishing you the best of luck as you move forward.

I was also diagnosed with de novo MBC, bone mets only in spine pelvis, rib and scapula, in 2004, 19 plus years ago. I'm so sorry that you got this diagnosis at such a young age! More treatment options now than then. I hope you'll get a very long time, with good quality of life!

Ivermectin seems to have similar activity relating to sensitizing tumor to T-cell activity. Cedars Sinai is recruiting for a trial with Ivermectin and a checkpoint inhibitor.

Yes and fenbendazole for triple negative. Ladies on here should really be doing their research on this. Who would have thought a simple dewormer can have benefits.
