I'm 😔 sorry for your sister. The question is a little unclear. I get that she's vomiting & sleeping a lot. Chemo can wreak havoc with the body as can the cancer tumors. My tumor caused this incessant, maddening, 24/7 itching all over my breast area & under my R. arm, so it's not impossible. The chemo can also cause some of those reactions & is why my Onc put me on Ondansetron originally for nausea. Where are/is her tumor(s)? Help us help you.

Hi Reno-park,

I'm truly sorry for what your sister (and your entire family) is/are going through...

I looked through your prior posts and see that your sis has bone/liver/brain (?) mets (I think...please forgive any mis-reading on my part).

I would imagine that the extent of her disease could cause vomiting but not sure how they ruled out the Taxol, since it sounds like onset coincided?

I'm going to add some thoughts, below, but want to emphasize that I have no medical background/expertise....Like most of us, I just try to keep up and learn about things...

I believe that you mentioned, early on, that her cancer is HER2+....If this is the case, I would encourage you to look into Enhertu...It's currently in trial with some truly remarkable results for HER2+ MBC.

Honestly, I would prioritize this over switching docs (unless your sis is up for a change, which can be difficult, esp. when feeling that awful). If you and the docs feel confident that Enhertu is a good option but current docs can't provide it, then I would def try to find a facility that's participating in the study *or* able to obtain a compassionate drug use ( cancer.org/treatment/treatm... ).

Your sister is lucky to have you in her corner.... :)

Take care,

Lynn

They trying taxol now she had it twice do t know yet if will work 🙏

in reply to Rego-park

Reno-park - My admittedly limited understanding is that Taxol can work even if used before. So that's good.

But, truly, no joke, if your sis is HER+, I would look into the Enhertu. This is the most promising *real* development I've seen in my many years dealing with MBC.

My very best to you both/all...

Lynn

Thank you again but I don’t think she will a candidate because her white cells are so low

Hi Reno-park - I'm sure you all have considered all options but I feel compelled to mention that low WBCs are often quickly reversed by stopping treatment for even a short period of time. For example, I stopped treatment (Ibrance) for three weeks while doing radiation because they were worried about WBCs. My ANC's increased five-fold in that time and my WBCs doubled, i.e. returned to normal range.

If this truly is the *only* barrier to trying Enhertu, it might be surmountable.

I'll stop now...but, again, felt compelled by your sister's circumstances to weigh in again...

I am also sad for your sister. Without more information I don't know what to say. Maybe she should temporarily be off all her medications to let her body rest. Perhaps seeing a naturopath could help her do things to settle her system down.
