I have been taking Ibrance and letrozole for 28 months now for metastatic breast cancer. When diagnosed, it was already in breast, lymph nodes, liver, lung, and vertebrae. A few weeks ago, I had a CT Scan. The only cancer showing was a couple spots in vertebrae...all other places were unremarkable...nothing showed up.
My doctor said this never happens...meds just meant to slow progression, not cure. My PCP said the same thing...unheard of! Of course, both of them had huge smiles on their faces. They can’t figure this out. Waiting a few months and will do another scan. I am thrilled, but I also have to say that I have a whole church full of prayer warriors who have taken me on as their project...even declared a day of fasting and prayer for me. I have no doubt meds are working, but I also believe in the power of prayer to change things...even make meds work better than they are supposed to! 😊. Just wanted to share that we do have hope!

That's wonderful! I'm on my fifth month and all going in right direction. My oncologist has deferred scans as my clinical presentation is so good and blood results too. I'm hoping I can follow you! I too have many people praying for me and attend a circle of light each Saturday. I've been undertaking a series of classes called healing skills for health. There is a lot written about the power of the mind. This disease has changed many of my views and beliefs! Good luck, I hope it all continues! Carolyn X

Sometimes doctors talk out of the wrong side of their anatomy. I think they don't want to read up on "the latest." Fortunately, I can brag and say that my cancer care for 28 years has been exemplary (I live in Hawaii). Not one single complaint. I'm astounded at how many of you have had complaints/problems. I HIGHLY suggest that you who have repeated or several different complaints list them, describe them, and write their date in a tablet. At the "right" time (when you've had it!), write it or preferably type it and send copies to whomever is appropriate, like the head of the hospital, the head of the cancer unit, the newspaper, etc. Make certain you are completely honest, but if they don't know about the problems, they can't fix them.
When I read the first part of your post I thought to myself, " someone is praying for her." I believe in the power of prayer and even tho not everyone who is prayed for is healed (according to His will) there are miracles out there. Very happy for you. ( of course I do believe that modern medicine and healthy habits also contribute to healing !) -Madlyn

Wow what awesome results! I too have good results with Ibrance and letrozole. Cancer has not progressed in 4.5 years. It is extensively in my bones but now where else.
