So, my question this New Years Eve is: Have any of you with metastatic disease on IV chemo gotten COVID? If so, how did it go and what did or are they giving you? How much time did you take off with your infusions? Or anyone that got covid and on other MBC drugs?? My husband has been really sick today--not sure yet what is going on but today we all think COVID--could be a stomach flu--neither of which I want before I go to chemo on Monday. I had to skip this past Monday because of a UTI and low grade fever--now this>

I got covid during my off week from lbrance th as t l take for metastatic breast cancer. Hopefully the symptoms will remain mild. I won't re-start lbrance till l am fully recovered. I know this is a scary time. Chemowill make it harder for you to fight any infection. Wishing you the best. Many people have delays in treatment for various reasons and do just fine. Letus know how it goes. Best, Mary.

Thanks Mary. I am not on Ibrance any longer but IV taxol. I feel much better on taxol than I ever did on Ibrance but I do have to go to infusion weekly. I have not been there for two weeks so that means this week I am three weeks off. I am not thrilled about going back to the hospital with all the covid of patients and staff right now but I will have to rise to the occasion in another week as long as I do not get this covid from my husband! UGH. Thanks for your encouragement about others getting this and doing fine--media makes you totally crazy!!

I haven't, but here's a true tale: My 100-year-old mother, who has chronic lymphocytic leukemia, came down with COVID (which she calls "covis" and insisted she never had) five weeks after her booster shot. She hates her mask and rips it off every chance she gets. She had the sniffles for a few days--but had infected her caretaker, who is my age, sixties, and who got very sick and needed monoclonal antibodies but recovered. Mom, oblivious to all, is carrying on. For gory details see my blog, The Critical Mom.

I don't think the crazies here in the states are giving monoclonal antibodies! I really think its all about Pfzier and Moderna wanting to make money on their drugs and are playing with us on the others. Not sure why other existing drugs can't be used in mean while! When did the caretakers get the antibodies? Did she have to go into hospital to get them?Bonnie
