Or ran with and COVID 19.

I have two questions:

1. Should we continue with Ibrance during this COVID 19 outbreak; and,

2. Are there any supplements that will help make our immune system stronger to help fight off the virus but that do not compromise the efficacy mod the chemo?

Thanks anyone.

Why would you stop treatment? I called acredo and ordered my Ibrance even though im not due for 3 weeks to take it. Acredo is the place that I get my Ibrance from. through Express Scripts. I'm reading where everyone is going to there appointments. I cant go into hospital because i'm on oxygen and have had pneumonia 4 times so I don't dare go in there wth this virus going on. I just took it upon my own to order my Ibrance. My pet and bone scans were both canceled. If you have breast cancer or any cancer you are not supposed to go into hospital. My lung dr wants to set up a phone call because she doesn't want me in there either.

I am also on Ibrance and use Accredo/Express Scripts. I am not going off my meds unless my Doctor tells me to. My labs have been good and I have been on this med for 3 years. I am taking Vitamin C , E, B and D plus multiple vitamin.

Hello Susan ! I am similar to yourself , in that I have had stable bone mets to date , ( 29th cycle due ) and my labs have always been “within normal range “ for Ibrance , and I am on 125mg . I asked if I could have less frequent labs than monthly at present , but my onc said no ...but I could have an Ibrance break in the current climate . It is so difficult deciding which is best for us at the present time . My only supplement , which is prescribed , is Adcal ( vit D and calcium for my bone mets ) . I think a lot depends on our individual health situation and our circumstances eg., are we able to self isolate and are we likely to be exposed to the virus ? I am waiting till I speak to my onc , ( a ‘virtual’ next appointment late April ) , when I will also get ct scan results , before making a decision ( if it is up to me ?! ) x

I know women from another board (who started on clinical trials) are still work full-time as teachers (this lady in particular lives in South Dakota) but many women that are on Ibrance for 5 years and more and it has always been their first line of treatment.

It's a hard decision I'm due my treatment Tues, it's not ideal situation especially as they have had coronavirus cases there, but if I leave it any longer it might be even worse, as I only have two injections (1 I could do myself) I am going to ask if I can have district nurse for other one

Hi. I will start 18 cycle ibrance tomorrow. My blood test is good. My dr called yesterday and said STOP ibrance for now. 🤷‍♀️

Got my Herceptin/Perjeta on Friday. So all systems go! 😀

Now off to work. Stay at home order begins tomorrow here in Ohio. Not sure what that will do to my job 🤷‍♀️. But less hours for a few weeks would work for me.

That is an question for your onco who knows your medical history, while others on here do not. Some ladies have been stopped and others have not by their doctors. But it depends on what their ONCOS told them about stopping vs. not stopping.

Too many variables plus no one on this board is a medical doctor and everybody has different health issues, may be on different meds and different medical history. IMO, I think it is not safe to heed any suggestions from a forum board. We all know less than the govt. does at this point.

Plus the govt. itself is trying to figure out what kind of meds or vaccine can slow down the virus so I doubt any one on here can tell you what supplements can help fight off the virus and improve your immune system. The govt. itself s doing research into this and does not yet have the answer. Thus, here in NY (the state with the most people infected and which is rapidly increasing in large numbers every day.)

Since the govt. itself is rapidly doing research into trying to curb this virus (which in NY every day thousands more are being diagnosed with the virus) I would not even chance taking anything extra because they do not know enough about the virus yet. IMO, Leave well enough alone for a while until they find out more about the virus.
