Eek, my brother-in-law just tested positive for Covid. He is at our house almost every day, often has dinner with us. He stayed with us for awhile after heart attacks and retirement and he and my husband have done alot together ever since. We live in a rural area an they enjoy working on motors, repairing old cars and old tractors, and he's helped us with repairs around the house and out buildings and it's been great having him around. Hard to imagine him getting it and us not! He's been vaccinated and boosted with us and he isn't feeling bad, just kinda like a mild stomach flu. I'm going to call my onc's office tomorrow morning. Not news I wanted, that's for sure! I'm in a bit of a slump--just not much motivation to do things. I did bake some blueberry muffins yesterday, though. I love baking--reminds me of my grandma and the wonderful aromas in her kitchen!

All the best! I had Covid last week and it was a pretty minor dose - mostly nasal congestion and a dry cough.

Everyone reacts differently, and some people in close contact don’t get it, so here’s hoping you stay safe.

Baking is an amazing skill and pastime. I suck in the kitchen unless it’s washing dishes, so I admire that you are a baker. Embrace it ☺️

Shine on ☀️

Thank you; so good to hear it was minor! And about baking, I think I was lucky to have a mother ande grandmother who baked alot as role models! My brother was the one who baked while we were kids at home. My mother gave me a cook book as a wedding present--I thought that was hilarious! A kick in the pants.......

Hopefully you won’t get it, but if you have all the shots it might be a mild case. I had it in June and am vaccinated and boosted. It was like a mild cold. The fatigue was the worst thing about it. It lasted about 2 weeks. Good luck!

Well my partner tested positive Thursday, we've tried to separate in the house but today I tested positive. I felt exhausted yesterday and thought it was the heat. Today I have a dry throat and snuffles but otherwise feel fine. I've had five vaccines. I've reported through our NHS app, as I'm eligible for free tests and potentially COVID treaments. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. It may be that getting it will be a relief, better than the fear! Plus it will give additional antibodies. Good luck and hope you stay clear. Carolyn x

I tested positive for covid last week, very much flu like symptoms but nobody else in the family caught it and we have been in each other’s company a lot. It’s the first time I’ve tested positive, so I was surprised. Took me a few days to feel better and it coincided with my 2nd cycle of cape, so I blamed my ill health on that initially! I do agree, the fatigue was the worst, I could not move - zero energy.

If you’re feeling well, don’t worry - I think it’s something we do have to live with, but obviously with out medical condition we have to be extra careful, perhaps just do a lateral flow if you feel out of sorts. I’ve had my 3 jabs but declined boosters!

Thanks, and glad it wasn't awful for you and that your family hasn't caught it. Neither of us wants it, and we are fully vaccinated. Will keep all here informed.....0

I think if you get it, you won’t feel too bad. I had it in March and was OK. I agree that if you haven’t had it yet it is a relief to know you have survived it when you do! Can almost smell those blueberry muffins….

I had a bad case in March 2020, and in May after an outdoor wedding where a few people got sick, I felt not great for a couple of days, but did not give it much thought. My doctor tests my antibodies every three months as they are high. I have not been boosted at all. They were higher than usual last week and we surmised that I most likely had the variant. Still too high to even warrant the first booster. Hoping it is mild for you. Love blueberry muffins. I make blueberry corn muffins!

I had Covid March 10 and found out I had metastatic breast cancer March 30. The only symptom I had was lethargy on day 1 and would not have known I had Covid expect my hubs tested positive at work and then I tested positive at home. He didn’t have any symptoms either. Try not to worry too much, although I know that’s hard to do but most people don’t experience the bad symptoms of Covid. My son is exposed all the time at work and when he knows he has been mixed with Covid, and visits, we just tell him not to breathe in my space and no hugging and kissing. Good luck!

Also forgot to say I am not vaccinated. My hubs is vaccinated.

I really appreciate all the kind responses! We used at home tests and both tested negative...will test again tomorrow. I haven't felt different than usual but my husband has felt felt lousy the past couple of days, mostly intestinal yuk. I have had some thing positive in my medical care. I am going to have oxygen at night via the C-pap I've had for about six years. That was delivered today and my pulmonologist thinks it may help both my sleep and energy level. I'm hoping.....
