Yes! Lots of headaches that start in the neck. My neck in the back is so tight. Have been on the same combo for 23 months. Just went to a headache specialist to try to get rid of the problem.

Thank you Kdiet for your reply my GP gave me blood pressure medication because my blood pressure was getting high and suggested I start taking magnesium chelate 1000mg once a day, will see how it goes.

I just did blood work to check on: magnesium, B12, mercury and C0Q to see if they are low. as that can cause the headaches. So, magnesium seems to be a theme here.

Possibility, I hope that after taking magnesium tablets the pain will go away.

I don't want to scare you but I had neck ache and headaches. A brain MRI showed 4 tiny mets in the cerebellum.

The good news is that as long as they're within the size limits they can be treated with Gamma radiation which spares the good tissue and blasts the bad. There are no side effects.

To rule out brain mets I'd advise you to have an MRI of the brain.

Sorry to be so direct but better safe than sorry.

Xx

Yes! I have had a sore neck since almost the beginning and I am 2 1/2 years on Ibrance. Most other side effects have gone away except this one. It doesn't show up in the literature as a side effect but I read that many women experience this. I wish I could remember where I saw it but alas I cannot.

thanks for your reply, so it means I'm not the only one who has this kind of side effect. You already 2 1/2 years on Ibrance , I am only on 2nd months. I hope I will be strong as you. Good luck for all of us ❤

Be patient with the side effects. The first 3-4 months were the worst and it should get much better.

I was on Ibrance in the past. I had been going for massages every 2-3 weeks and kept up that routine and have not had any neck pain. I don’t know if the massages are the cure but I’m happy to keep getting them. My insurance is good so I don’t pay for anything else except the messages. I’ve had my massage therapist for over 10 years so I trust her to do the right things for me.

Thank you Red71, maybe I need messages too. ❤

Hi Oltu,

I have been on Ibrance (Palbociclib) and Letrozole for two years. I have tolerated it well. I don't get many headaches so I think I cannot offer any advice on that subject. But in my past before I had cancer my headaches were usually related to stress or eating improper foods that didn't digest properly. So maybe rest more and try not to worry. You are going to do well and you will heal. I believe that whole heartedly. If you want to heal you will.

I believe that the modern drugs have an enormous power to heal us. Ibrance and Letrozole are quite new drugs so I don't think anyone knows for sure whether they cure or postpone the advance of the cancer. I like to believe that for most of us they will be healers.

I am grateful for the efforts of scientists and researchers and doctors who want us to heal. And there is a new drug that might be starting clinical trials soon. It seems to be effective against mbc. So everyone one of us has to feel hope.

After two years of Ibrance and Letrozole which up until recently kept the cancer from spreading I have learned that I no longer show signs of disease. just recently I learned that my scans last week show NED (no evidence of disease). I am deeply grateful and almost giddy with happiness. My son was visiting when I got the news and the look on his face was so rewarding.

I am thankful for the drugs and for my kind doctors who seem to care about me but I am also thankful to the books I have read which encourage me to heal and the meditation I do with Dr. Joe Dispensa. I follow some of the advice that I learned from Dr. William Li in his book Eat to Beat Disease. I am also thankful to the makers of the Wave Mat. I spent quite a bit of money for the wave mat but feel it and all the above mentioned things I am doing are helping me to heal. I have always believed that I could recover from this so-called incurable illness. I tell my brain every day that I am healing and now I tell it that I am cured and that I will stay well. I don't think my doctors believe in cures but they have watched me do better and better with each scan. So maybe our new drugs plus all the other things I do have resulted in such a wonderful diagnosis.

Yes, I don't know exactly what is really causing my good results but I believe is might be my belief in the power of my body to heal plus the drugs and all the other things I am doing. I do so many things that I might never be able to say it is this or that thing that is might be playing a part in healing me. But I like to think it is my belief in the power of my own body to heal. I know I want to get better. I have always said that I think mbc is curable. I still believe that.

Step one for me was to determine if I wanted to get well. I think it is important to ask ourselves if we truly want to get better and if the answer is YES then we have to begin searching for ways to strengthen our immune system. It can be through exercise, healing foods, meditations or just the belief in ourselves to heals. There are so many ways to do this. Healing might not be one thing. It might be everything we do. I try to eat whole foods, drink lots of pure water (yes, stay very well hydrated), avoid constipation and meditate and/or do yoga. Go for walks and be grateful - even for the drugs and the scans. Stay very grateful. Do a lot of happy visualizations. Even during my scans I picture the radiation rays coming down and healing me.

I obviously don't really know why I am healing but I do some of all the above things and I continue to believe that our bodies want to heal. But we just have to create the environment for them to do so. It might not hurt to say to ourselves what do we need to heal. Then take the answer seriously and begin acting on it.

When meditating I had to learn to let past sad events and disappointments and blaming to go by the way side. We all have a brighter tomorrow if we get healed. The world needs and loves us. We should believe that. Just think of the odds of being alive in the first place. The egg and the sperm meeting and falling in love and producing us. So we cannot waste any time feeling hopeless. We have the power to heal ourselves.

I hope I don't sound like a preacher. But you have to realize that I am deliriously happy to be NED. I want to create hope in all you wonderful ladies. I am grateful to you all who come on this site and share your joys and your pain.

Now it is my job to continue to protect my body and lovingly care for it. No matter what ups and downs we face in life we have the power to heal ourselves. Keep saying those words to yourself everyday. "I am healing" and/or "I am cured".

I think we need to do as many things as we possibly can do to ensure you are using the tools for healing. Just doing these things I believe we create a healing environment for our body. The tools are all within our grasp. Books, You Tube and just the love of friends and family are all tools.

And new drugs are also coming soon that will help us.

Books that have helped me are Joe Dispensa "You are the Placebo", Wim Hof's You tube videos on the power of breathing and the power of cold water bathing. A book called "Breath". Also Jane McLelland's book. I don't do everything that I read about but I learn something from all these wonderful writers.

Thank you, Marlene! This is so inspiring. I just started Ibrance and letrozole along with zometa. I’ll have scans in mid-January.

My PET in Sept. showed mets to bones and the peritoneal area. I also had mets in my ovaries - neuroendocrine breast cancer (ER +).

Please share your story with as many people as you can. You have helped me a great deal, and there is so much power in belief!

Those simple words will open doors in your brain, heart, soul and mind. It will work with you to make a full recovery. Do not spend any time in the past.
