Hi Ladies- I am abruptly changing from Ibrance which I feel sad about as I had hoped to get 2.5 years like the median but have to move on after 18 months on Ibrance.

Hi Beth, I feel like we are having a weird parallel life. I was on ibrance faslodex until 6 weeks ago, ca 15-3 climbing ++, some boney progression and neck nodes palpable. Not funded for vereeniging and no insurance so am onletrozole, a different AI to previous. Sure my neck node is growing gahh! Well you lasted longer than me on ibrance/faslodex and I hope you do brilliantly on this combo. Meantime, am living in hope. Booked weekend away in South Island in August. It's not quite North America but its certainly something to look forward to.

We are all different in our response to the diagnosis. Enjoy your trip. It will do you good.

Cheers, June S.

Yes I see we are so similar.. I went on my South Island trip just a few days after being diagnosed with MBC…my onc the lovely Karen Aimes at Harbour said it wouldn’t make a difference if I started Ibrance a month later.. so I went and used the time to process the news…. I am glad to be able to switch on the Verzenio - especially if it works.

I am on Verzenio for going on 5 years and I just got to remission, NED, 6 weeks ago . I corrected my oncologist when he called it remission and I said isn’t that NED and he said you have been NED FOR YOUR LAST 3 pet scans that’s a year and a half So let’s call it remission for now. Anyway have you ever tried Versenio yet? Xx

I remember that my pet scans got slightly better and better for the first 6 pet scans, 3 years , never worse and no progression , and then the last 4 showed NED , he is calling it remission but we all know that’s not possible. I have pain( soreness ) in my ribs that gets better and then gets bad again that’s where my cancer spread to , the ribs front and back . Why do I feel pain if I am an ED and he’s calling it remission? I don’t understand why I have pain soreness. And in the last two weeks it’s really sore hoping that has nothing to do with missing my faslodex injections for the last six weeks. I am very excited that you’re on Verzenio it’s been very good to me I feel and I feel you’re going to get the same results. I just feel it. Xx

Don't worry. Verzenio is the sister drug to Ibrance. I was changed to that two sessions ago and am doing very well. Diagnosed in 2013. Went through the list of drugs really quickly and ended up on .just before the next option which is Chemo, Anyway we are all different. Keep reading on this site. All the best.

Cheers, June S.

Yes Verzenio has been wonderful to me , it should be for you too . My problem is I can’t get my faslodex and I’m allergic to the generics which has preservatives, I’m allergic to the preservatives and nobody knows which one. I also have an allergic reaction when I eat certain things I’m thinking now it’s because of preservatives. Xx

I was on Ibrance/exemestane for just over 2 years before progression. Switched to Verzenio/Faslodex about 18 months ago. Faslodex no problem other than lumpy, sore butt however Verzenio at 100mg caused uncontrolled diarrhea. Switched to 50 mg and have had no further problems. Seems to be much kinder to system than Ibrance. My wbc has steadily climbed and is now in the "normal" range. Hope it works well and long for you.

I’m having some fun with the diarhea at the moment…. Might be nice to drop the dose!

I was switched to Verzenio after 2 years on Ibrance due to neutropenia, even on the lowest dose of Ibrance. I started on the lowest dose of Verzenio (50 mg twice a day) 8 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks I felt like a sack of cement, but then that went away. However, I do have really awful diarrhea and don't go anywhere without a large plastic bag, extra pair of pants and immodium. Hoping this, too, will cease, but it hasn't yet.All the best to you.
