Hi everyone,

I have been taking Ibrance for a year, but i start feeling sick again, irregular heart beat, not energy, insomnia and the headaches! I finished my 3 weeks but i have been with daily headaches since past week. I went to the doctor today and my white cell count was very low. He didnt see the connection with headaches, but I did got it with the high dose and they were worse than now but it still anoyed. He decided to change the meds, but for now he told me to stop until my count get better. He didnt even want to try 3/2 weeks off.

I just wonder if anyone get headaches with ibrance?

You could be right. I am going to try to drink more water bc. I have not take ibrance for the last 3 days and i still have heacaches.

That was going to be my suggestion too. You have to drink lots , especially in the hours directly following taking the pill! I’ve very aware whenever I’ve become dehydrated. If I forget to drink the extra water I know because I start to feel hot and either agitated or really tired. Drinking a whole lot of water always solves the problem.

If you’re stable seems misguided of him to switch you right now (just my thought). What has he got to lose by giving you a bigger break? It’s your decision. Your rights. You get to make the decision. Be clear with the doctor what you want if you think it would help you.

To be clear I am only connecting the headaches and lack of energy to lack of water. I don’t know about the other symptoms.

Ok thanks, i have irregular heart beat at night, so scare me and deprived my sleep togethwr with headaches. But i know these meds are like this, and sometimes we need to deal with.

I think my doctor is concern about my husband job too and have my immune system so weak during this pandemic time. I live in area where the cases still increasing.

Thanks for the info

Hi, I have the same problem. Especially when I restart Ibrance after a week off. Just think it’s the side affect of the drug. We just have to persevere or take a different drug. It soon passes. Usually my second week of taking the Ibrance. Hope you don’t feel like you are the only one. Sometimes I take my blood pressure to make sure it’s ok. It usually is. Take care.Cheryl

I just had a scan and although my mets are unchanged, it also said I had sinusitis. It’s due to my allergies. This time of the year Oregon’s weather is very changeable, sunny one minute, raining the next, a week of 79-80 degree sun, and then a week of 60 degrees and rain. My sinuses hate the barometer changes and I get headaches even tho I’m not plugged up or sneezing. So my point finally is that maybe something else might be going on! Sorry for taking so long to get to the point! Elaine

I have constant sinus headaches and a cough , my oncologist does not think it is ibrance or faslodex related. This has been ongoing for about 8 month .

I find it very frustrating to try to figure out what is causing some symptoms , cancer medications OR other medical issues . Currently with the medical services it is easier to self medicated .

But having said all that I find drinking more water does help with over all feeling better.

I hope you feel better soon .

Yes, my doctor didnt think it was related. However, the first time that happened to me with ibrance 125mg I got horrible headache on the 3rd day of taking it. And other symptoms so the doctor told me to stop and a few days later the symptoms and headaches went away, so i think it is related to the medication. Also, my white cell count very low so he said will change bc i am in the lowest dose and still affect my count. I think he is worry about my situation that my husband works for the post office and he is exposure to alot ppl and with my immune so low my husband can get me sick with the virus. Where i live there are several cases.

in reply toNmartinez15

That does seem to coincide with the starting of your meds and the headaches and then discontinuing .

I find each treatment comes with side effect and everyone reacts differently. We always hope for the least amount of the side effects and treatment that works .

I hope your next treatments are effective and gentle on you .

I hope so! I have been on ibrance one year, so I get a little anxious to change it. I asked him to give me 2 weeks off and then start ibrance again but he said no.

in reply toNmartinez15

I have had medication changes that have been so much better than the previous treatment .

I hope that happens for you .

Sorry that you are not feeling good. I am on Ibrance and occasionally have headaches but I relate it to hunger because eating makes it go away. It seems to happen when I have gone too long between meals. I don't know if efficacy studies have been done on the 3/2. Try eating and/or drinking water. Blessings Hannah

Have you changed any other medications? I am taking Venlafaxine for hot flashes. I forgot to put it in my pill box and about 5 days later I had headaches, nausea, feeling of light headedness. As soon as I realized I’d forgotten to take that medication, I took one dose and it went away. Looked it up...all the signs of going off the medication...you should not go off cold turkey! I learned that lesson! Elaine

Maybe it was that... my insurance didn't want to pay ibrance 2 months ago. I didn't took in March n then they approved it on April bc my doctor called them. However, i was feeling great in March with alot energy n after take ibrance for 3 weeks i went from 10 to 2 in energy level.

I did not on Ibrance 100. Hope it settles down! And don’t forget that it “could” be something else....but if you’ve never been prone to headaches, maybe not. My daughter always reminds me to drink water..,,,

I’ve been on 125mg. of Ibrance for 2 years. I am fortunate as I’ve had no side effects whatsoever. I am very rigid with taking it with my dinner, at approximately the same time every evening....between 6:30 and 7:00.

I hope you feel better soon.

I wish i was like that! I cant take this meds late bc it would make my insomnia worse. I have to take a noon the latest.

I didn’t realize that insomnia was a side effect. I also take Letrozole and take that at lunch time.

prone to headaches. had migraines, particularly with menstrual cycle; have been in chemical menopause due to treatment. have allergies/sinus challenges exacerbated by Ibrance; sinusitis occurs in 1% of persons taking Ibrance; i'm that 1%. have been on Ibrance since Aug 2015: lowest dose,75mg in Dec 2015, and on 14 days/off 14 days. get headaches frequently w/Ibrance, especially at night, even when hydrated. migraines have been triggered recently, too. currently seeing a neuro onc and opthomologist for 'eye/head pain.' NEAD March 2016.

Today is the first day that i didnt wake up with headaches. I have headaches for 10 days straight! I am littlw bother bc they are going to put me on 150 mg on verzenio which i think is unnecessary when i was doing ok with 75 mg on ibrance in reference of the cancer (not talking about the side effects) so they are going to torture to me for 2 months before change me to 50mg. I know already i am not going to do ok with high dose. She gave me stupid reasons that they need to stop the growth. I was like my tumour has not growing since May 2019 why make you believe that i need high dose when low dose is been working fine. I am already stress out bc i have always have constipation issues and i hear the high cause more constipation. Sometimes i feel they want to keep us sick giving us more than what we need.

Sorry for what I said and the ppl defends doctor decisions, but sometimes they dont look the big picture and we want to have quality of life instead of living more years and been miserable.

sorry to hear the 'frustration' you are experiencing. agree, it's the quality of life. have an amazing wellness/medical team. they listen to me, and we work together! have had to be my own advocate and speak up. it's not their JOurneY, thus, they need to hear what's going on with 'this body.' be well.

Nmartinez15 profile image
Nmartinez15 in reply tohurricaneheather

You right! I will be okay to take high dose if my tumour is not stable, but that's not the case. I am stable, so I am going to complain as soon i get symptoms and ask them to change it.

Daily, even the opioids for bone pain don't help. The only thing that does is 500 mg ibuprofen, then someone told me ibuprofen was counter indicated with Ibrance. I am on 100 mg.

My headaches are gone! Since i stop the ibrance. I start with verzenio next Friday.

in reply toNmartinez15

I am so glad your headache is gone

Hi, I’m on Ibrance. I also have headaches and sometimes feel sick in the mornings. I agree with the ladies, drink plenty of water. Sometimes I forget but my husband reminds me. I feel much better after drinking a couple of glasses full. Hope your headaches ease soon. Best wishes
