Xeloda and mouth sores

Anyone have suggestions for a mouth rinse due to sores from Xeloda.

I have found that Manuka honey lozenges help with mouth ulcers.

I think some doctors prescribe a “magic mouthwash.” It’s not bought readily at the pharmacy but is compounded in the pharmacy with a doctor’s prescription. Sometimes they prescribe Difflam spray or lozenges.

I rinse regularly with salt water and also do 'pulling' with coconut oil.. (look on youtube) haven't had problems since.

I’ve been on Xeloda since early June. I experienced mouth sores in first cycle only. I tried EVERYTHING before I landed on a winning combination:

1. Brush teeth with SQUIGLE morning and night.

2. Rinse with PREVENTION MOUTH RINSE after brushing and flossing.

My dr ordered me two wonderful mouth washes. One helps in the healing and soothes it: dexamethasone. Another numbs everything and long relief : magic mouthwash is written on the prescription. I don’t see a medical name. But both are prescribed. I had a bad week this. Couldn’t eat lost 4 pounds in a week.

Its finally getting better.

Yes rinse with baking soda and warm water..per my Oncology nurses.. I did it it worked..my dr ordered Magic Mouth wash but my insurance would not cover it. 😞 He also suggested Lidacane..Its a prescription..just numbs the area..Good luck..🙏🙏🙏
