I am writing one more time cause since I finished my last chemo (01st of July) my doctor said to my that I will be free for the summer (only take 1 pill Aromestan - exestamane) and from September I will have blood tests, MRI and CTS. I want to remind you that I am in MBC at bones especially in spine and waist. I had Ibrance and Letrozole for 3 years and this year FROM March I had new spots at waist so 4 chemos came to my life. My main problem is that after finishing the chemos, my hair came out after 25 days and my body smell real bad no matter how many times I have baths. I use deodorant, oils with perfume for my body and my favorite perfume *Bronze Goddess *, but the smell is still there. Any idea why? Is there another lady that face the same problem?
Thank you so much

What a lovely photo of you! You look happy and like you are having fun! What a bummer that letrozole and ibrance stopped being effective. I must say I am happy it worked for you for 3 years. With me it worked for about a year (this combo) and then I was put on ibrance and faslodex and then afinitor. Now I am on an oral chemo called xeloda. Jury is still out as to whether it is working. As for you question with the odor, I have not experienced this but felt impelled to send a note as I loved your happy photo. Maybe you can google about this if you dont get a lot of replies based on people's experiences. We are all so different and react differently to all these meds. I hope your future scans give great news! What chemos have you been on? Are you in the states? Faith
I don't remember the drugs of the chemotherapy. I live in Greece 🙏🌴🌴❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for your reply
Take care you too
Hi CharaMasiakou,
Congratulations on finishing chemo! That must feel great! (and super cute bikini!! I love the ikat design/crochet detail, very groovy! ).
This is an obvious question, so please forgive me....Can others smell this scent or just you? I'm assuming it's others, too? But chemo can def mess with your sense of smell...
I did not have that issue with chemo ...well, not that I know/anyone told me! Maybe it just needs to work its way out of your system?
(Your question made me very curious, so I searched...found this very informative/helpful article)
You look great! I don’t know about the body odor from chemo but my husband when he was taking the drug Lipitor (Cholesterol lowering drug) had this problem. I could smell him though and maybe others could too. He told his doctor about it and his doctor wouldn’t believe him because body odor wasn’t one of the side effects listed in the Lipitor pamphlet. He was prescribed another drug and the body odor disappeared so it was definitely the Lipitor which caused it. I guess what I am saying is, in your case, it must be a side effect of the chemo and will probably go away soon since you have started taking new medication. Sometimes drugs have side effects which affect very, very few people that the drug companies don’t bother to include them on the list of side effects or they are not informed about it,
During, and after chemotherapy some of us have a heightened sense of smell. So the things others can't smell we can, even to the point of making us nauseous. Remember also that chemo takes almost a year to be fully removed from our bodies. Also certain foods can cause more pronounced body odor. I have raw garlic everyday along with garlic in my food. Too much causes body odor for me, especially since I don't like to use deodorant. I prefer to use lemon juice, a bleach water spray, or tea tree oil deodorant when I must use a deodorant.
