Ache all over but stable. What to do?

I seem to be going through a stage for want of a better description that every fiber of my body aches. All of my recent tests show me as being stable including a pet and CT scan.. . I am on Faslodex shots and Xgeva every third month. I’ve been taking ibuprofen and Tylenol and it really doesn’t help. I didn’t always have this problem. I’m wondering if it’s excessive inflammation? I’m looking at cranial sacral therapy and massages to try but would love to hear from any of you ladies if you’ve had similar issue and what has been successful, if anything for you. Thank you in advance for reading this. I would add that I could take hydrocodone that has been prescribed, but I really don’t like doing that if I don’t have to.

Hello, it could be Xgeva, it can give extensive muscles and bone ache.

I have had xgeva and Letrozole for 17 months both of which can cause muscle ache. I do go through days at a time where I ache so much but this is often because I’ve not done anything active outdoors because of heavy rain or ice eg active gardening . I have found that walking 3-4 miles most days does seem to mostly offset the aches especially in my spine so these are usually only temporary. It also does a good thing for my mood.

it’s a strong ant inflammatory med! They use for people with arthritis! Kinda like Motrin on steroids!!!!

I am achey at times and have wanted to avoid starting down the opioid track too. I take celebrex a once a day anti inflammatory and that works well. Ask your dr about it. I works so you only have to take once per day and has much less risk of ulcers than the other nsaids like Motrin Naprosyn etc

I’ve read that Claritin can help with pain. I take tart Cherry capsules and it seems to help me with general aches. I am always skeptical of supplements and their value but when I run out I do notice a difference.

I’ve heard good things about cherry juice, supplements. I’m going to look into that.

Many years before being diagnosed with MBC, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Like you, it felt like my whole body ached( I was under an extreme level of stress dealing with a very medically and mentally complex child) I first went to a Dr who was a Rheumatologist but specialized in treatment of Fibromyalgia. He explained that in Fibromyalgia the pain detection center in our brains gets opened and remains opened for a number of reasons. Self care to the highest degree was recommended, massage, meditation, natural supplements and getting away from the cause of the stress as much as possible. He did test me for all types of arthritic conditions and everything came back neg. He did however start me on Celebrex 200mg twice a day. It was helpful but it took a Naturopathic Dr who gave me oral supplements and some IV to finally break from the pain. I still take many of those oral supplements. But I do now have Degenerative joints disease and spinal stenosis in the Lumbar area, but I have found help through Orthopedics must more than the Pain management center. My Cancer center does not have a Palliative Care Clinic. Best wishes for you

I have an appointment next week with the orthopedic doctor. I agree with you.

I am on Kisqali and Letrozole (this is the culprit) I am taking a steroid (7 days a month) to stave off the pain. This has worked for the last three months.

that’s really interesting. I’ve never been offered a steroid, but I know that would make me feel better.

Be wary of that if you can though, steroids are really bad for our bones

I take 1-20mg tablet for 7 days. Makes life bearable.

I was going to suggest movement and self-care. Appropriate massages (someone who has worked with cancer patients in treatment before), perhaps reiki too? And I don't know if you're very active, or perhaps your activity levels lessened more recently? But generally keeping our bodies mobile is key to staying pain free. Walking is excellent for getting everything flowing and maintaining strength. But also just finding ways to slowly move your body through positions and directions that you don't normally do, by releasing tight areas of the fascia surrounding our soft (and hard) tissues can really help us reduce areas of pain in the body
