Hi there I feel that this path is so long. Began in 2004 with bilateral mastectomy and TAC chemo. Then in 2014 tumor markers high pet scan showed bone meets. Faslodex added to Arimidex and now Ibrance is replacing Arimidex. Sometimes I feel that instead of the side effects I'd rather live my life free of chemo. But pushing on. Thanks for your support

Hi Layla818...

I truly am sorry about the change in treatment and also the side-effects...What a shame that you have to pay such a steep price to get the benefits of treatment...

I have to admit that I'm not up on all of the names so am not clear about your treatment...but I do hope it works well....You've apparently done well for a long while, which is great (I mean...6 years on essentially the same treatment? That's amazing) and so this bodes well for you for your next change. I hope it works well for you for many years and that the side-effects are more manageable...

Take care,

Lynn

Whew! A long and winding road. I thought I was cured in 2007 and 13 years later it shows up again.... this time in my bones and breast. I find nature, being outside comforts me a lot. Unfortunately, heat waves of summer make it difficult to stay outside now as long as I like. Hope you can find a few moments of joy to balance your difficult side effects. Hang in there!!! You are not alone.

Hi there and welcome.

A lot of us on here do well on Ibrance as it has very few nasty side effects. Really hope this can be true for you too.

Hello Layla,

Glad to see you on the board. I am on Ibrance/Letrozole. I have been on it 39 months and will start my 40th month next week. I tire easily and have low neutrophils, but basically find it easier than what I was expecting.

Best wishes to you. This should be a lot easier than taxol. There are many breast cancer treatments, so you have a lot more options. Best wishes. Blessings Hannah
