Rash on head.

Has anybody that has had chemo developed an itchy rash in their head? It is day 3 after and I itches last night like crazy. I took benedryl and it helped some but this month it is worse than last month. I don’t know if it’s normal reaction or if I have some type of allergy. Thanks in advance. I can send a pic in a DM but didn’t want to post it here

Gosh, that sounds very uncomfortable and troublesome! I don't remember what chemo you're on, but I do remember one re: which an allergic reaction was common...in fact they would add benadryl to the infusion. And if the benadryl you took helped, I guess that points to an allergy as the problem?

Totally unrelated to cancer, I've had very severe (often life-threatening) allergies to several foods and also medications so they make me very nervous...It sounds like you're taking it seriously and I guess good thing it's almost Monday so you can contact your doc?

In the meantime, is there something anti-itch you can spray on the area?

I hope you get a good solution to this...

I have been using a cold facecloth and Aloe Vera gel. It’s mostly on the side I sleep on so I really think it is my sweat and the heat. I am going to try a towel on my pillow so it I get night sweats I can toss it aside when it gets damp and have a fan blowing right on my pillow. It’s almost likely acne but on the side and back of my head while the rest is clear. Weird but then I do tend to get weird reactions to things. I’m on Abraxane.

hi! i don’t know if you are on here anymore, but i am experiencing the same thing with abraxane. what did your Dr say and what did you do to find relief?

Hi Sarcie— I am just recovering from Shingles, which was more itchy than painful for me. Can you see a dr to make sure all is well? Sending you healing!

Thanks. I’m going to touch base with him today. It’s just one side of my head. The rest of my body is ok.

I wiped my head down with rubbing alcohol. Then rubbed on benedryl cream. When that dried I powdered my head with cornstarch. A fan on blowing on my pillow and I slept well finally. Lord knows what I looked like with my head powdered white. Lol
