About mouth sores

Hi everyone,

I asked about this before and was given wonderful tips on what to do for mouth sores. Now I forgot what the tips were, go figure. A senior moment. If anyone remembers about what to do for mouth sores, please let me know.

I use an over the counter mouthwash that says it treats mouth sores every night. You can ask your dentist for a prescription mouthwash that works better. I use a q-tip and dip it into the RX mouthwash and hold it on the mouthsore for a few seconds. Do not eat or drink for an hour. Hope this helps. My son is a dentist and he gave me Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12% oral rinse.

I use OTC, Peroxyl and/or Closys. Both work great ❤️🙏❤️

After lots of trail and error here’s what works for me. I swoosh several times with 1/2 a tea spoon of salt + 1/2 a tea spoon of baking soda then Biotene mouth wash. I brush my teeth with Biotene toothpaste. Anything else is very harsh. I chew gum all day long to keep the saliva going as it’s the best medium of killing microbes. Mouth hygiene using very fine toothpicks and floss is most important. Things will get much better if you follow this religiously. Best of luck

Agree - this works well for me too.

Salt and warm water work the best for me. Swish around your mouth and spit it out. Gargle with it if they are in your throat. You can do this several times a day. Also, you can use baking soda and water. I found these work better than magic mouthwash.

I had mouth sores when taking Ibrance 125, my oncologist lowered to 100 and no more mouth sores. I found that Ulcer Ease (found on Amazon) really gave relief. A bit expensive for mouth wash, but worth it. Sorry we all have to deal with this stuff. Hope you find the answer.

A friend of mine who is an oral surgeon has recommended Mucosamin to me as I e started aromasin and Afinitor and worrying about mouth sores...you can buy from Amazon...he reckons it’s the best there is
