Upper respiratory infection

I have been battling bronchitis for about three weeks. I know that many viruses can cause this but I am wondering if it could be a side effect of ibrance. I have been taking it for almost three years with faslodex. No one really knows the long term effects. I did read I think on this post that there was a possibility of leukemia? What go u think?

Ditto to Sandra’s comment about getting another chest X-ray and perhaps antibiotics. Bronchitis IS listed as one of the side effects of ibrance, along with several other respiratory illnesses, probably all from low counts.

I’m assuming you’re on antibiotics for this?..if so then they’re clearly not working

Don’t try to be a heroine and get checked over

Bossy aren’t I!

I couldn’t tolerate Ibrance because of lung issues. I just stopped Verzenio in the second month for same thing 917and worrying about blood clots. My ankles and feet blew up, my feet were like balls'a hard to walK On them . I have to try to sleep sitting up. So for now, I’m just healing from Verzenio & will see my onc on the 29c to discuss options. The adventure continues! Hang in there!

Mine did the same. I ended up in hospital with pneumonia and excess fluid retention. I released through urine 5 gallons, yes gallons, of fluid. I lost 17 lbs. the reg dr keeps me on 40mg of lasix my oncologist did do anything about it!!! The bottom of my lungs collapsed. I was being crushed inside my lungs and outside. I was in hospital 5 days. I still swell on the lasix. My oncologist swears it’s not from my Ibrance or my estrogen blocker. I even took the print out off line of the swelling being a side effect but he didn’t want to hear it! I just do the best I can. The dr in hospital told me to stay on a cardiologist diet no salt at all. He said swelling is from the arimidex (I think it’s spelled wrong). Please watch the swelling.

Hello when we take any of these drugs like Ibrance and get sick any kind of infection it is not easy to heal or get better because our white blood cells are low and our inmune system is not working properly maybe you could ask your oncologist to rest from Ibrance till get better God bless you

Thanks for your reply. I did have a chest X-ray and it did not show pneumonia but some mucous. I had the z pack and singular capsules and it helped. Going for my treatment in May 1 and will see if I need any follow up. Always worried that the treatment stopped working!

Yes, I took off about ten days. Getting better and my general doctor says my lungs r clear. I’m sure this is all from the ibrance!
