A Check in Feb 5, 2018

HI everyone,

Hope everyone is doing ok. I started working a tempt job two weeks ago, been busy with that. I am thankful that my ex helped me set up new insurance, so that the cost of ibrance is minimum. I feel tired from work, but that's normal. I caught a cold couple days ago, laid low, now feeling better. I know we all need to stay warm during the cold season.

Glad things are going well and that your ex has been helpful. Although at 64 I’m kind of getting tired of working it has saved me from sitting home and becoming inert and morose. Also I work with nice people which is a huge plus. Hope you meet some great people at your job too!

Thank you! The tempt job I had just ended but I will have another one soon. I know what you mean about getting tired of working, I am close to your age.

Can u please share which insurance is assisting u with ibrance. I am going on Medicare in March and my current coverage does not accept Medicare! Part D programs r a small fortune!

Try going to a SHIP counselor at your hospital. They can be very helpful finding the best supplemental plan for all your meds. We learned a lot from them. Medicare is confusing to me.

Hi SusieIM. Sounds like things are going well. I work too and am thankful as it keeps me busy and with people who have no idea what I am dealing with, which is sometimes nice as it makes me feel more run of the mill if you know what i mean.

Had a little bit of a setback with a couple tumors in my liver growing so am going to be starting a trial through UCLA soon. Have to have all the preliminary stuff done so should be starting it within the next few weeks. My doctor thinks its a great option and is very optimistic and encouraging. It's a combination of three drugs; affinitor, aromasin and ribociclib (Kisqali). I was on Ibrance and Letrozol. Hoping for the best. It's been overwhelming but starting to feel better about the whole thing!! Best to you and everyone!!

Thank you so much for sharing Kimr2081. My tempt job ended Monday. I didn't pick up another job, as I am recovering from a cold. Decided to get well then go back to work. Yes, I know exactly what you mean, about working; it helps me too to work. I wish you well. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
